Take all the time that you need. I kinda feel sorry for you because every time there is an update, you encounter some problem with updating game mechanics and such. Just keep working on it and eventually it'll come out.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
maybe just to make it to were everyting isnt just handed to you
you could have it to were if you dont do something on time like ring the town bell or if you have taxes and there too high people will stop listening to your commands and you might lose the village
also it would be cool if you made it too were you can have a villager become a scientist and if you have a certain amount of items you can get technology like if you do + you could research a town portal and like + = a flaming arrow for archers and maybe you can research the buildings and jobs instead of just atarting out and having a builder build a inn or a villager become a builder
Seriously, someone needs to start working on this or gather a team to work on this. That way we can see some real progress. *jumps into adminium bunker*

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
well, you could maybe look at that, because millénaire looks more like this mod than minecolony does.
but this sounds pretty awesome! actually this is a mix between millénaire and minecolony, and that's awesome :tongue.gif:
but maybe you can add stuff wich the chef and blacksmith etc. make, but you yourself can't make, so you can only buy it from them (like in millénaire the norman tools and cider etc.) then you would need to interact more with them.

Ever look at when this was written, and then compared it to Millenaire? No, I don't think you haven't, and NO to that last part, we don't need you to interact with them, it's just a bonus if you do
looking back at this thread is a stroll down memory lane, i was one of the original few people who wanted to get involved in this back when this idea got started by whackjob (who has now quit the forum) though sadly this idea will never come true, daydreams rarely do.

Rarely is still a possibility my friend, I have still not given up hope, unlike a lot of other people, I've just become lazy about forming up a team, maybe I'll just post this thread in the Request Section Again or Modding Discussion
It's really hard to find a dedicated coder for mods, lol, and for something this complicated, it's really really hard, I need to personally PM modders to see if they'll try
but i do have some slight issues, to do with settling and building that could be looked into. Settling
So on the first day, you have a small bunch of npc's wandering around. They keep wandering for anywhere between 1 day and 5 days after spawning, and if they have not yet found civilisation, either player made or npc made, they will start one. How? they will chop afew trees and build a pre-set house design i guess.
Now, how do i get people to settle into my village?
Well, i think one way to do this could be by creating a completely enclosed area or house with a bed in it, with a flag just outside. So whenever an npc see's a flag and a spare bed somewhere near it, he will move in if he has not yet started his own colony.
How do i stop them from moving in wherever there is a bed? take down your flag.
I saw you mentioned that you need to gain NPC's respect before they do anything for you. this does that exactly, you are providing a lone traveler with a bed! once he has moved in, assign him to be any type of npc you want, and get to work!
*exactly this happens when an npc wanders past another npc's house. This is how large enemy cities will form!
Building
Nothing would be more annoying than when your builder just randomly attempts to build a house somewhere, right where you didn't want him to. This has probably already been resolved. Obviously, nothing at all will be built unless you instructed it. here are my 2 ideas for functions of builders; 1: select two points, much like you would for copy and pasting, select a house you have already made, and paste a "ghost image" of it somewhere. Then set your builder to work, and he will construct that exactly :biggrin.gif: he can source the materials from nearby chests or other npc's.
*You could also copy and paste many houses or constructions, and give your builder a big list of jobs to do. 2: This function is much like "cuboid", or the "set" function. select 2 points, and a block type, and your builder will fill it. You can also create many of these, to create a large list of actions for your builder to do.
These are just some simple tweaks that could be considered. I'm aware that this may clash with other ideas i may have missed in the comments section, but i just noticed these things weren't clarified very well in the main post :smile.gif: just some quick things i thought up while i was reading. Sounds exciting, i hope this mod actually gets made!
Hey, iv been reading up on this mod and this sounds purely Awesome. Also i would like to put my two cents in and suggest maybe a fisherman that could have a pre-designated positon on say like a dock or a bridge, maybe a boat (real or built for aesthetics).
Cant wait to play it, going to have endless days of fun with this one!
I apologize if this has been asked before, but I didn't feel like going through 43 pages to get my answer.
Why 20? Why not more? I understand there ARE limits, but 20 seems a little... Tiny? 25, or 30 would be good, but, please, tell me why, I'm ignorant in the ways of coding, please, enlighten me.
EDIT: I forgot to say, I completely support this idea, and would be a WONDERFUL addition to minecraft!
I totally support this but i would like this to be a seperate button on the menue because i would hate going into every mine and every forrest and finding everything taken by colonys.
Is there anyone even working on this still? someone needs to make a thread in the modding discussion and "challenge" a coder so he/she is compelled to help, and link this forum so we can play this mod because I`m really excited about this. And I think millenaire is overgrown.
Heres the thing.. I always wanted to make a Mod like this and i would be willing to start this project up but i dont know how to make GUI's. Untill i can find somebody to teach me or find a tut on how to make minecraft GUI's i cant try even thinking of working on a mod as big as this.
You can't say, it shouldn't take Months, this is a Mega-Mod, if you think you could do better, then do so and see how long it takes
