It is really cool when use the Apox's Pokeball mod to capture the workers and make them build somewhere else. I somehow made two mayors with the pokeball .

I have been messing around with creating my own blueprints by compiling the .java file you supplied for us. I am very new to the whole java development but I think I have it down to at least edit some of the blueprints already created. I may have, however, made my blueprint too large because when i go to compile it, it tells me that
"Blueprints.java:6: Code to large
final static int bp[][][][] = new int[][][][] // [Design#][y][x][z]
1 error"
I only edited one blueprint, the small castle.
I went a little extreme too because I wanted a large castle
so it went from being
//Small Castle (14 x 14 x 4) [260 Blocks]
to what I made it
//Large Castle (28 x 28 x 20) [208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,208,72 = 4024]
Any help with block limits or size limits would be very appreciated.
I tried reading through the old posts but I am too impatient to read 64 pages.
Thanks again
Edit:
I just got done reading through a few pages and noticed someone else has the same issue so ill take your advice and try to compile with netbean or eclipse
Edit:
Yea that didn't work, I tried both netbean and eclipse. I can open your Blueprints.java file but compiling it into a class requires a project and I cant figure that all out, says it cant figure out that first line of the file
"package net.minecraft.src;"
Guess ill just wait for the update over the next week or two and hope the schematics is included
Hey guys, thanks for the support. I did some minor coding toward an idea of how players can control the builders via placing signs. This would be done by the player placing a sign and typing specific text on the sign. Then builders would do different things when in range of the sign. So far, I have the following "sign commands" planned:
"For Rent": Builders who stumble across this sign will decide to live near the sign. The builder will replace the sign's text with "[NAME]'s Place", and then forever stay within range of that sign, and never despawn (unless killed). I am still thinking about whether builders will still be able to build stuff after gaining a home.
"Construction Zone": Builders within X distance of this sign can build structures. Builders within range of this sign will never run out of blocks, and continuously keep building until out of range of this sign. If the player modifies the configuration file so that Builders each start with a structure count of 0, then the player can use this sign to make the builders only ever build when the player desires it.
"Private Property": Builders within X distance of this sign will not build anything.
"Settlement": This sign combines all three of the previous signs. Builders within range of this sign will build a house, and then live in that house. After that, the builder will not despawn and will not build anything else. Houses built in the Settlement will be built in an organized manner, and builders will automatically renovate the land as necessary. Once a settlement has the maximum number of occupants, any additional builders within range of the settlement will not be able to build anything.
If you guys have any additional ideas for "Sign Commands", feel free to mention them.
You can also add a number to the blueprints, and then you write in a sign "build X" and the builder will buil the desired blueprint
As you seem to be swiching to a text file for the blueprints, perhaps you might confided using the format used in the Ruins mod. viewtopic.php?f=1032&t=202365
It has some strong similarities with your current java code for blueprints, and although simple, it allows for a lot of interesting variation. I asked, and the creator of Ruins said that it was ok for others to use that format and that he has made the code available and open-source.
Though I understand that incorporating this may not be easy, and that there is a reluctance to use other people's code in your project, I think that it is worth atempting to foster collaboration on a standard schematic format for use in mods.
Sorry for lack of responses. I have been very busy this week. I probably won't have any free time to work on the mod or respond to posts until Sunday. Sorry.
Is mod dev gone? No update in ages, I'm starting to think he has abandoned the project, which is a shame because MCEdit schematics had such potential.... building the Crysler Building in one click...

I constantly hear a clicking in the game when I am around the mobs. What is this sound signifying and how do I turn it off without turning off ALL sound?
Sigh....to spawn mayors more often just edit the damn text files that are included.
Also, the creator has sure as hell not given up on this, he posts like, every page.
He's currently working on implementing things to balance this more and make it more attractive.
Now that that's taken care of, if only we could find a way to auto-ban people who can't figure out how to install the most basic mods or at least post an error report....

Only that building will be built in the surrounding area, so if you only want towns and shops, you could put signs with towns and shops!
