Earlier I released a mod that would make adding skill trees into Minecraft easy. You can see it here. To showcase the mod, I want to also develop a skill tree along with it. So I would like some ideas from you guys. I would like some ideas for skills and some ways to obtain skill points.
Skills can have multiple requirements (experience level, skill points, items in inventory, a previous skill, certain actions, etc). Skills can also modify attributes (extra health, faster speed, more damage), be togglable (skill can be turned on and off) and act as requirements to do something (craft a sword, interact with villagers, etc).
Really, the only limit is potentially your imagination.

My Mods:
Working on updating Little Maid Mod to 1.12 with my own twist. I am a Japanese anime fan :3 Teasers here
Blood Baubles - An addon for BloodMagic that adds related Baubles to the game. (Currently on hold)
Blood Magic Wiki - A Blood Mages Choice Encylopedia (Currently on hold)
LazyModder- A libary that makes modding easier. Currently being developed for 1.12)
Deobfuscator - A program used to deobfuscate obfuscated mods.
A neat toggle skill would be one that slows down time, but not you. It could be obtained after maxing out speed stat and combat stats maybe? Would only be able to be used for a few seconds, to dodge projectiles or quickly escape.
And a parry skill. It would give you a chance to dodge a melee attack, and the chance to successfully parry scales with how high your speed stat is.
Some more simple skills would be like tree felling, so you can break the bottom log and the rest comes down. A stealth skill that lets you sneak past mobs. A skill that gives more drops from mining, not sure what a good name for that would be. Cooler, more useful skills would be things like freeclimbing, it would let you climb walls of specific materials, like stone or wood, and climb ladders faster. Sliding, if you sprint jump, then sneak while mid-air, when you land you perform a slide, that knocks down mobs (or could slow them down, if you dont want to animate that) and lets you go through one block spaces. This could branch from a crawling skill. I have more ideas, but this post is getting too long.

Hello,
as i have a problem with private messages, i send you quite the same message here, where you said you would take skill trees proposals.
I'm ready to build a full gameplay revolving around skill trees, so if you feel like developing quite a challenging tree which will be very innovative and fun to play, tell me and i'll start working on it (it will take me quite some time of course, but will be worth it). Please be sure that you won't change your mind after a few days or weeks, however.
I can even include some of the proposals of EmperourPenguin, some are quite cool.
If you want the big lines, the gameplay would be like this :
- some grinding involved, but grinding unlocks things, it doesn't empower the player,
- reward not dying, while letting a chance to dying players to come back / not to lose everything if they are good,
- let choices to the players, and letting them make other choices if "at home",
- include some sort of easy but deep customization (if i start giving the details, those are not "big lines" anymore),
- wouldn't kill the Minecraft feeling some of us have when playing.
yeah dude i'm in for this. like i look at these skill tree mods. we need an Archer-Specific Class mod where like, you refer to skyrim - level 50 in archery would take weeks. that's how it worked best, but the skill trees are so advanced. like 25-50 buffs and abilities for each class. these mods are nothing like, its 2022 now we still got nothing it's been 4 years.
listen make a sick UI, it needs to take 3 days at minimum to get to max lvl, and then you'll need like 40-50 buffs per class. it might take a few weeks to write but it'll blow up. give it a sick name like "mystic's Archery Mod" or something.
even skill trees within skill trees, like an attack speed skill tree, a damage skill tree, and like an ability skill tree, all within the archery skill tree.

Really interesting. Let me work on it.
