What if there was a train mod for 1.7.10 that would allow easy tunnel construction? What if it also had 3 block wide tracks, various subway trains, and other features? This is where the Minecraft Subway Mod would come along. This is an idea that either someone will help make, someone will make the whole thing, or I will have to make by myself if I get to it.
(Possible) Features:
Crowbar: Use on stakes to create tracks
Track Stakes: Place a stake facing another stake and right click with a crowbar to create normal track, and destroys any block in the track way well having the ability to curve when possible.
Tunnel Track Stakes: Same as Track Stakes, but hollows out all blocks in a 5 block wide, 6 clock high radius well adding stone to the walls
Track Ramp Stakes: Gives tracks a modern, concrete individual bridge.
Elevated Track Stakes: Creates a metal elevated line similar to the New York ones.
Track Base: A 3x1x1 segment of track that the track stakes use. It has ballast, rails, and ties, but using a Track Remover Machine will get rid of rails. Adding rails or cross tracks on these basses will instantly convert the base to match the rails without changing the base too much.
Tunnel Track Base: A segment used by the Tunnel Track Stakes
Ramp Track Base: Individual segment of the Track Ramp Stakes
Elevated Track Base: Individual segment of the Elevated Track Stakes
Rail Destroyer Machine: A device that takes of rails without damaging the base.
Rail Destroyer Selector: Right Click two areas of track, then shift-right click on the Tunnel Destroyer Machine to get rid of it.
Switch Stakes: Connect with Switch End Stakes, use one Switch Stake and two Switch End Stakes to create a normal switch track, use four to create a double crossover track. Connect them to rails on any base from the Rail Destroyer Machine.
Switch End Stakes: Use these to connect to the Switch Stakes, and can connect with any rails.
Rail Stakes: Normal rails used on the bases, without ballast or ties. Adding them on bases will convert the rails into the ballast and ties of the base.
Third Rail Placement Train: A diesel powered yellow train that places third rails on lines it travels.
Third Rail Automatic Placement Machine: If against any track and powered by redstone, it will place a third rail on all connecting rail lines. Once finished, it can be destroyed without effecting the third rails
Third Rail: Individual Third Rail section that takes up 3 blocks wide. It will follow any rails next to it.
Overhead Power Line Placement Train: Another diesel powered yellow train that places overhead cables and poles above the track.
Overhead Power Line Automatic Placement Machine: Third Rail Automatic Placement Machine, put places poles and wire throughout all connecting tracks.
Electronic Conversion Device: Connect to a Third Rail or Overhead Power line by putting it against a rail or pole. Use redstone to turn it on and power the whole system connected.
NYC R-46: A third rail powered subway train.
NYC R-142/R142A: Another third rail subway train.
NYC Elevated Fleet: Decommissioned 1923 cars, powered by a third rail
NYC SOAC: An oddly shaped car from the 70s, third rail powered
NYC R-40/R-40M: Slant styled cars, also decommissioned.
