The tech biome is made up almost entirely of redstone contraptions. Piston-Block doors, squisher traps, rail lines, piston elevators, and even a few melon or cane farms. Everything is automated, except for the futuristic glass enclosed suspended hallways. Now I'm guess one might be asking at this point how these biomes would be generated. Each of the redstone mechanisms, as well as the suspended hallways etc, would have an overall shape not unlike a giant Tetris block, and depending on the type of construct, only certain other constructs could be placed beside it, so a fairly simple algorithm places compatible constructs beside each other at random, then moves to a lower vertical level and repeats the process.
Also, each of the constructs has a open ended building block flags, that is to say that there are A, B, C, and D building blocks which are used in these constructs and the A, B, C, and D blocks can be any type of solid block of those deemed suitable for the biome. So different iterations of these constructs would use different blocks in the construction of its individual components (door blocks, door frame blocks, floor blocks, etc.)
This biome would be protected by a hostile variant of the iron golem, which would patrol the halls at random using a system intended to make him cover as much ground as possible. Also, a couple of aesthetic blocks would help facilitate the industrial look of this biome, like steel plate blocks (with rivets around the edges).
Space would be reserved for putting in the rail network, which would be done after the rest of the biome is constructed. Village constructs would also be available to the game. If one is randomly chosen, then compatible village constructs are built adjoining the first, and the village is checked off the list of possible things to add. Tech biome villagers are not attacked by the hostile iron golems because they are after all still iron golems. Tech villages may also include a "Technician" villager who trades in redstone mechanical components.
Good point on the redstone. I get so focused on the building part of things I forget about the deconstructing part. Maybe a mod should be made around this idea though.
This isn't a biome, it would just be an area with pre-placed redstone contraptions. This is all very random, weird and "slapped together". Especially the Iron Golem part (as I don't see a reason why one would be there?)
No support.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

This... is an amazing idea!
So a player could get huge quantities of redstone and redstone devices such as pistons and repeaters for free? No work required?
I dont think hunk this would work and how does man made stuff generate as a biome naturally?

As of now

... Okay, so what about the Technician?

I do like the technician. I beleive it's a good addition, and I support it.
The ability to trade for items in redstone circuits is, in my eyes, something the game could definitely do with.
Okay, abandoning this thread and giving the Technician his own.

Nice idea! That would be a cool mod
