Here's a suggestion/ mod request for 1.8: Cobbled new stones! (Is it too soon to request this without forge or mcp or something?)
When you mine the new stones they drop as cobbled versions of themselves that can be used as normal just like regular cobblestone.
Polishing requires smelting the cobbled stone first, then crafting as normal.
Can craft the new cobbled stones (I'm thinking of simplifying the recipes for the new stones so that all require just one stone and one quartz each, where the stone is in the middle, and horizontal (granite), vertical (andesite) and diagonal (diorite) placement of one quartz results in new stone
Also Rammed earth - has a higher blast resistance than dirt:
Recipe: (sand, dirt, clay, gravel = 1 rammed earth, any order)
It isn't impossible to mod without forge. people have been modding long before forge existed.
The only way to make a mod without some kind of mod loader is to edit Minecraft's base files, which are obfuscated so it's very difficult to do unless you know exactly which randomly-named classes do what. And even then it's closer to hacking than modding.
It's not impossible, forge is just a mod that modifies base class files, you're acting as if it's entirely impossible to mod without it. it isn't, as far as mcp that's going to take time. At the very least get your facts straight before running off at the mouth and being rude in a public forum. This is the second time i've seen you do it and if i looked over your profile i'd bet it's one of many.
Ratlor, it will likely take some time before minecraft is decompiled seeing the amount of work done for 1.8.

In no way at all am I being rude here or anywhere else, nor have I said it's impossible. I just explained that it's very difficult to do without a mod loader.
Sure, it can be done. But chances are, it won't be until at least Forge is out, which is what the majority use to mod.
Rude is the person who called my mistakenly implied statement retarded. Did I say anything like that about anyone else or what they have to say? No.
I was simply being bluntly realistic. I'm sorry if you confuse that as rude.
Being 'bluntly realistic' doesn't explain anything to a person who might not have the first clue and they're looking for help or information, it solely comes off as you being rude and discourages them from even wanting to be part of our community because you might be the first impression they get of the type of people here. You really want people to think that the minecraft community cannot be bothered to take the five seconds to type out a decent and polite answer to simple questions or requests?
Also just to be clear I never called you retarded.

In what way? In order to make a mod for 1.8, we need Forge for 1.8 which obviously isn't out yet.
Neither are MCP or Liteloader out, so in what way is that retarded?
