A mod I figured that would add a new world type that would randomly generate a large mansion (so that no experience with a ghost is the same), give you flint and steel, some torches, and would spawn a special "ghost" mob. The ghost mob is invisible when looked at in direct sight, and also cannot attack while in the player's view range. However, it can attack in darkness, so it proceeds to "burn out" torches (Which would probably add a new "burnt out torch" item to the game) in order to attack you. However, it would only do this sometimes, and instead prefer to move blocks within the randomly generated mansion while the player is looking away. If the ghost were to snuff a torch, the player could either place a new torch or relight it with the given flint and steel. Perhaps whoever makes this mod (If anyone thinks this is even a good idea) could add a "mirror block" which would sort sloppily render your character AND the ghost (if the ghost is near the player of course). I also thought about, how would the player KILL the ghost? I figured maybe the "ghost" could be given a slight particle trail, and that the player be given a camera item. Snapping pictures of the ghost would weaken it slightly. The player would constantly have the blindness de-buff, and (if the ghost is close) a "cold / freezing" de-buff which would slow health regeneration and make the screen shake slightly. It's basically a mod that produces a horror map as a world type, along with adding a SPECIAL enemy to haunt you. I also thought, the ghost shouldn't be too head on aggressive and instead stalk the player (Unlike the Slenderman mod where when you see little ol Slendy he rapes the crap out of you instead of scaring you).
And what is to happen if the player beats the odds and kills the all powerful ghosty? I was thinking, they should be given a haste buff, given some items, and be teleported somewhere randomly in the world. Wherever they teleport a small house will be built around them and they will be next to a bed (Implying they had just woke up).
It's probably far-fetched for a Minecraft mod, but the modders in this community are amazing, and im sure if someone dedicated themself to this it COULD BE DONE (With some bugs of course). It's my current dream to have this as a mod, but I am total crap at coding / scripting / whatever-ing and I have no patience, so I'm asking for you modders out there to help me.
If you read this entire post, you are one cool person THANKS!I came up with this due to the fact that all the "Scary" mods had mobs with OVER 9000 HEALTH!!111!!ZomGUAEHfiu!!!!2111! and proceeded to knock you onto your ass the second you / they spawned in. That's not scary, it's just difficult.
Well,your idea goes 60%-horror adventure map and 40%- horror mod(counting the ghosts and the new blocks)because the ideas of teleportation to a small house with a bed is DEFINITELY for an horror /adventure map.
