and that's a big one...
I don't manage to save the player's state between 2 worlds...
For exemple, when you die, you turn into a ghost (that's normal ^^), but if you quit the world and join it again, your "ghost state" won't be saved. That's a big issue, because player are able to "cheat" their ghost state by disconnect & reconnect :/
I'm working on it, but it's pretty difficult, so if there's is a modder here, maybe he could help ?
would it fix if it was set as a different game mode? Like you have crea, surv, and spec but just add ghost? I know game modes save after you disconnect, so just a thought. I could see the gravestone acting like a '/gamemode 0' type command block if that's a possible solution
I take it the fiery one is made out of blaze rods? So neat!
They can be crafted by making a + out of the material your using on the crafting table, like this:
( represents an empty space)
Idea though: The cross upgrade that lets you keep your items when you come back to life should have an ender eye in the middle. It's sort of like the eye searches for the items you lost in the world, and teleports them to you?
Not sure if you still don't want consequences in the mod, or if you plan to include them but have a config file to turn them off. But if you do include them, the blaze rod cross can remove the resurrection sickness and the blaze rod + ender eye cross can both remove the sickness and let you keep your items.
Either way, I'm loving the mod already! Can't wait to see what else you have in store!
1- I think the "+" recipe is a little bit too simple...
2- I really like the idea of the Ender eye, I'll see what can I do with it
3- For the effects on respawning, maybe a mining fatigue will be better than something else
4- I have a great idea (I think ^^ ) : As long as you have the "ender" item inside your house, or near your gravestone, you can respawn with your items. For exemple, if the item is into an item frame, 5 blocks away from your grave, it works, otherwise, you drop all your inventory.
5- I already planned to make a config file to enable or not "Hardcore mode" I just don't know yet what will I put inside ^^
Really, too simple? I can't think of another way to craft crosses on the table.
Ohh, mining fatigue makes a lot more sense. Perhaps just include weakness too though?
I'm not sure if the ender item thing is too good of an idea though, I prefer just including the ender eye in the crafting recipe (it would make the cross look pretty neat too! ooo, what if you animated it? with the cross on the eye blinking and looking around every few seconds).
I think that idea would make sense if the item was an ender chest though. Place the ender chest 5 blocks away from the cross, all your items show up in the chest when you respawn. Not sure how that would work if the chest is already filled though...
I have an idea to contribute! what if, as it was stated before, Graves spawned randomly in the world, But what if Graves were multi-block structures? Maybe randomly spawned graves were anything from single-block cobblestone cross-tombstones, to two-to-three block high stone statues and memorials. Spawning at different graves would have different effects or consequences, and perhaps you could bind yourself to specific graves to instantly respawn to without wandering around.
You could also find the nessisary recourses to build your own multiblock gravemarkers, such as gold to make golden crosses or symbols to top the gravestones. perhaps using mossey, cracked, or chiseled stone bricks would change attributes of the grave as well. Maybe even netherrack graves for something dark and infernal.
But these are just hollow ideas for you to fill the gaps of. The mod 'does' sound interesting. and it has given me some nifty ideas for some kind of "Spirit world" expansion, and if anyone would like me to elaborate on that, you can ask me to in a reply.
Hey, I'm really sorry for going AWOL! Since extended periods of time away from the internet seems to be a thing for me now, let me say right now that I fully support whatever you do with the mod from this point forward. It doesn't seem like you need my feedback anymore anyway, the mod is looking great! Can't wait to test it!
