Actually I don’t think there is a huge problem with this. No so much take away as disabling anyway. There are many mods that come to mind that turn off or overwrite various parts of vanilla that I seen. But it is best not to change something that causes a whole lot of conflicts. Still, sometimes incompatibilities have to happen. I wouldn’t consider it being rude to other modders unless you purposely changed something so it would conflict with a mod you didn’t like.
Side note, what do you mean by “hire”? =P
I suppose so, I think it's simply a bad idea, in general. Additions to Minecraft? Yes. Deductions from Minecraft? Not advised.
When I meant 'hire' I meant pretty much what it means: someone asking me to do a job, in this case it would be without pay. But I am pretty busy right now

hmm... I'll keep those 2 in mind. But like Bio said, I can think of several mods that 'override' vanilla features... though, I'm not a modder lol so I'll take your word on it, for now thanks
I dont see it as an issue. For one I personally prefer something like forge or bukkit which are api's for modding. This way it keeps minecraft and your code separate while providing a middle ground. As far as disabling sometimes that has to happen. If you make a mod that requires something to be disabled like lets say you write a new UI for the inventory and you need to disable the default but someone loads that mod with another UI improvement mod. The user has to be a little smarter because if you use a UI improvement and a UI revamp then you are going to have issues. There are other cases like recipes and such are I think the most common conflicts.

I see. I have asked that, if these ideas are being planned to become realities, they be in forge.
I have a great idea for a awesome mod but i think it would take someone months to complete it alone :/ so meh
Edit: Complete WereSpecies Mod/ that includes hunters, Demons,Angels and Silver ore, guns and weapons to combat all new mobs + Both Civilised Were Mobs (like Npc's/ meaning you can trade with them) and Feral Were's, Also a new Dimension for the Angels. (possibly Vampires as well?) (and have it like Elder scrolls were you can contract both viruses (were and vampire) and get buffs and debuffs for it.)

Is it possible to add anymore detail? Sounds interesting enough

Mobs:
Were - wolf, cat, fox, rat, bear (each of the species would have different special abilities) (Civilised ones you can trade with) (farel just are agro all the time)
Hunters (humans who hunt down weres
Angels & Demons
Silver ore used to craft silver tools and weapons that are effective against the weres
Contacting the were disease (either through fighting which would be like a 10% chance of it happening OR through a completely expensive Potion)
Benefits of the disease (Speed 1, regen 1, resistance 1 ONLY during night though, the disease is nocturnal only)
Downside of the disease (Hunger 1, and you cannot eat any non meat foods at night while the disease is working)
An Angelic Dimension would be a sorta Aether-like world full of angels and other beings that go along with them.

Would you like me to add this idea to the topic? I'm sure if a modder claims your idea I can refer them to you to receive more info
An idea for a mod came to me the other day while playing minecraft, when two of my least favorite features of the game happened to me at roughly the same time. A creeper snuck up on me, I noticed him just in time to move away, only to have a skeleton shoot me with an arrow, knocking me back to the creeper and KABOOM... and as my screen turned to red I thought, " I wish I could knockback those creepers about 100 blocks and then let them explode."
..
And somewhere in the region directly above my head, a light bulb clicked on.
Minecraft Golf ( Explosions and Mayhem optional ) using sheep or other creatures as the balls.
Create a small range of weapons/clubs that do zero damage, but varying amounts of vastly overpowered knock-back effect to send the creature of your choice flying through the air. ( as an additional option, you could have them explode when they hit something )
Create a "Tee" item that you would use on your intended creature "ball" that would stop it from moving around before you hit it ( could this be accomplished by adding some kind of paralysis flag, changing the targets movement, or simply by disabling the targets AI )
Obviously you could take it further and add in a target/flag block as the goal to aim for, and have it track the number of hits it took you to get there.
Add in a power meter to "charge" the shot to control how far the target is hit. ( similar to how high/far the horses jump )
If you added the "exploding ball" option, you could make an additional minigame where you and a friend each create a "castle" or a wall, and you have 10 shots/sheep each to see how many blocks you can remove.
would you make it for me ? I just really want to whack a critter and see it fly thru the air ( and possibly explode on landing )
LOL interesting idea though wouldn't it interfere with vanilla minecraft? or would it be a different game mode selection completely? (like survival, hardcore, creative, then GOLF! :D)
could someone make me a mod where u can get knocked out, start bleeding, break bones, or suffer intense pain etc. when u either are at low health or take too much damage in 1 hit? It needs to be fully configurable and each effect could have a configurable 'cure'
If u dont get it, look at this: http://www.planetmin...s-broken-bones/
I want basically everything in there, EXCEPT the thirst, healing system and visibility, and it needs to be singleplayer/multiplayer, NOT just for bukkit.
PM me if u want to know more, I will be setting up a request post soon with full details
just let me know when you put up your post and I can put a link to it through this topic
I really like these ideas, especially the fright one. Perhaps fright can be status effect, which passive mods will be put under if you get too close, but can also be available in potions and enchants? I see that a modder has already taken up the challenge though, I'll be waiting over here eagerly.

If only one can be done, I would like ti to be the Amorphous + mod, but I would really appreciate either getting done. Thanks to anyone who can make these.
