I, personally, think that Witches should be found in Villages as well as the Swamp Biome. There should be a Peaceful Villager form of Witches that spawn in Villages, and a Hostile form that spawns in Swamp Biomes.
They would look like normal witches, only with a few texture changes, they would give you potions and other brewing materials with low prices, and they will have a 25% chance of spawning as a Villager.
There should be a Mod out there for this, but I don't know how to do anything related to Mods. There should be a kind of Witch Hut in Villages, but the only thing that should be different is what would be in the flower pot- a Rose rather than a Red Mushroom. Also, there are going to be Villager Warriors! 2 types: Archer, and Swordsman. Swordsman: will run around village with Iron Sword, Helmet, Chestplate, and boots, batting mobs with his sword. Archer: will climb on top of the Church at night, with a bow, Iron Helmet, Chestplate and Chainmail Leggings. Both of these will not hold their weapons during day, but will still wear their armor. They will act like normal Villagers during Day. Also there will be Theif Villagers that will steal stuff from you Hotbar.

I think you misunderstood; they meant that the good witch wasn't a witch. they're suggesting that the good witch be an alchemist/priest (although priests already have a good use), and that they organize attacks on the bad witch.
now, I like the idea of the good witch being an alchemist. it adds diversity. however, I do not think that the "attack" idea is a good idea. It would require a major upgrade to villagers, and it might be weird to come back to your village to find it void of all life, then come back later to find half your villagers dead.
but, that's just my opinion. you guys decide if it is a good, a great, or a crappy idea.

But, also a little add on about what he said about the attacking, Villages only spawn in Plains and Deserts, so why would all those Villagers go all the way to the Swamp to kill a Witch?! It is kind of retarded. Plus the attacking would take a lot of time to code into the game. The bad witches will be in a swamp, and the good ones will be in Villages, that's that!

you have my support, but a peaceful witch, how about a female druid? they deal in the same area, nature, and both perform natural feats of magic, such as summonings (they could summon iron golems) and arcane powers, like growing plants automatically, and if there is a zombi invasion, and some villagers become victim, they could make them cured, using plants and crops

They will shoot any Hostile Mob if there isn't a Zombie Seige. If there is a Zombie Seige, they will only attack Zombies.
