So I figured out it's time to put my Java knowledge to a little challenge, and make my first mod.
For my first mod I'd like to make a simple mod: Industry and Magic combined.
More on my Java knowledge:
I've been coding Java for almost a year now. Most of my programs are simple games, programs to make my life easier and some miscellaneous fun programs

This section will be dedicated to the mod content itself.
The name:
The mod might be called "Dominus ex Magica et Industria"; meaning "Master of Magic and Energy" in Latin. Might call it DMI for short.
World Generation:
Most definitely a straightforward YES! I am looking forward into adding Overworld, Nether, and maybe End ores, although I might add some structures in the Overworld (maybe) and in the Nether (probably, as I think the nether is quite "lonely").
New Dimensions:
Maybe not. I honestly don't see new dimensions fitting into this context, although, IF YOU DO think it's a good idea, be sure to comment down below.
Mobs:
This sub-section includes:
Hostile mobs (incudes bosses)
Animals : Maybe not.
Villagers : Probably, as I really like the trading concept
Hostile/Neutral monsters (includes bosses) : Most definitely. Might even add a boss or two.
Electricity system & Magic system:
For both of these I will add 2 main ways of collecting: Passive & Active. I might even add some sort of mechanic, that will allow you to convert magic into electricity, and vice-versa.

It was fun writing this post, I also hope it is fun to make this mod. If you want to apply, here's the format:
Nick: This can be your IGN, Real name, or a nickname of your choice
Position: Which position you want to apply for
Experience level: from 1 to 10. No previous experience is needed to join.
Why would you like to join: Just optional, but If you want to alpha test, it's a must

powers: can do lightning on you but can also fly and make an earthquake
how to defeat him:by placing water near him when he comes down for making the earthquake then he will be stunned for a little so start attacking with your sword and repeat
drops:immortal dagger does 10 health and yay

Hmm... neat idea, but instead of earthquake I think I'll make it nausea. Where should he spawn? What do you mean by "does 10 health"? Deals 10 hearts of damage? For a boss with 125 hearts, I think the drop is rather... unbalanced. But we'll get to balancing last.
If you'd like to make the model for the boss, tell me, I'll give you credit for it

yes 10 hearts and knockback 3 it's called the immortal dagger cause it has infinite durability and he's spawned with a clock right clicked on a iron golem without a head.

I personally dislike KB with every attack, maybe make it have a special ability to knock back mobs on right click instead of blocking. As for the spawner, I might add a magic clock item to balance it, as the drop is rather OP. I'll be sure to give you credit once the mod is done

Experience level: from 1 to 10. Well, for the Java knowledge I know it pretty well (5-6). But I have no experience whatsoever with MC modding so my questions and problems might be quite stupid. As said before, I would like to try modeling, but have no experience.
Why would you like to join: I wanted to make a mod for a bit of time, and that's what made me learn java. So, my java knowledge is pretty good. Then I got to diluted on his section, and found your post that seemed just awesome. I have reall cool ideas to add and would definitely like to help, if you allow me.

At first I actually started learning Java to mod MC, but then I dropped it, to develop some simple games.

Modelling: It's not too hard, it's just about patience, and getting the pieces where you want them. Download Techne, and play with it a bit.
Coding: All questions are welcome! There isn't such a thing as a "dumb" question, you are simply new to the subject (I am also pretty new)

- Dominus doesn't mean master. It's more a a lord, a man with power.
- Ex is completely wrong there. It's used to say where someone/something is from.
- Industria is not energy as in: magic energy, but energy as in: labor
"Magister magices et machinarum" would actually be valid. However, I'd stick to a name that more easily rolls off the tongue
English is not the best.
