Basically, can someone make a very simple mod that gives infinite stacks instead of 64.
If infinite is too difficult just make it a very high number (maybe 10,000) or something.
If possible, could you also make it not require ModLoader or Forge (just drag and drop into the ".jar")
However if you can only make one that requires ModLoader or Forge, please still make it.
If there are already any mods that do this, I haven't been able to find any so could you show me please.
Changing the maxstacksize to 65 for a snowball means:
1. You can pick up 65 from the creative inventory.
2. You can't place 65 in a stack in your inventory- only 64. The remaining 1 remains in your hand.
3. You can shift click around your inventory to stack them to 65.
4. When you close and re-open the save, the stack of 65 is found at 64. The 65th is gone altogether.
This shows that the saving format simply does not support stacks more than 64.
In vanilla Minecraft, the highest stack you can have of an item is 127 because that is the highest a byte value can be. I'm pretty sure this won't be all that helpful, but I hope it is.

Minecraft actually stores its item stack sizes as integers; this means that you could in theory hold 2,147,483,647 items/blocks in a stack.
THIS MOD IS VERY BUGGY, but it does what you wanted. I wouldn't suggest using this mod in any world you care about.
I doubt this mod is compatible with nearly any other mods because it directly modifies some of mojang's classes. Have fun.
To install just drop the contents of the zip into your minecraft.jar. Also please don't ask me to update it.

How to get a dxdiag
If I helped you, dont forget to click the thanks arrow!
Or give you it thing 101 item and you will have infinite of them. WorldEdit can also do the trick
I guess I wasn't very clear, sorry.
I just assumed that in one of the ".class" files it said something like: "stacksize=64" and you could change it to "stacksize=10000"
I'm just getting really fed up of having to drop stuff in survival because my inventory is full.
However you say you have a feeling there'll be an error.
Could you test it out with one item and see if it actually does?
Oh, well thank you for trying c;
