Also I'd love to implement the temperature, so that in a cold night, or if it's raining/snowing it will be coldish, and you'd require some kind of fire, and armor would keep you warm. Maybe cloth armor?
Although, it is almost always easier to get iron armor instead of wool/leather
wool in the shape of the piece you want to make, along with a needle and thread somewhere in the recipe would be good for making wool clothing and such. Remember, this mod makes iron harder to find and take much more effort to smelt. It will be easier to go shear some sheep.
I would like fire to interact a bit more with the environment. Wood turns to charcoal, charcoal turns to ash, light flammable blocks turn to ash and grass dies off if a fire is lit on it. Also, it's not realistic to be able to light a big fire anywhere when there's no fuel, so Flint & Steels will only start fires on things that can burn. Ash will also probably has some sort of important use, so fire will be much more a part of surviving, than just for making decorative fire-places.
Pine nuts are found in pine cones, so maybe they could be found that way. The availability of pine nuts isn't dependent on weather, it only depends on if the pine cones are open yet, as the nuts will fall out or be eaten by squirrels. Oak trees don't produce acorns like normal oak trees, but they also don't produce nearly as many apples as an apple tree. Maybe they could just remain the "Apple Oak".
This is true. It would only start a big fire in a VERY dry area.
And that sounds good for the pine cones I just know IRL pine nuts are "in season" around early fall, late summer so that why I suggested the weather thing... But I do suppose that you would need to get them from the pinecone and there is no harvesting date on those lol and I have no idea how something like that would be implemented into a mod.
So just rename the oak tree then?
Hehe, salute to you too! But what would we do with those acorns? Also I'd love to implement the temperature, so that in a cold night, or if it's raining/snowing it will be coldish, and you'd require some kind of fire, and armor would keep you warm. Maybe cloth armor?

I would say that the acorns could be used as some sort of projectile... like snowballs but they deal damage. When I was a kid I used to shoot acorns with a slingshot lol. IRL acorns can be cooked and used for food, also.
I've seen a few temperature mods in the past, although none of them seemed to have had new armor like wool.
I think they didn't add that because of the iron reason: iron is pretty easy to find, so why use wool if you can use iron.
As this mod makes it harder too to say, smelt, mine and craft, you won't have this problem!
Tree falling completed! Only have to fix some falling physics. The wood blocks aren't textured(because they're new blocks, so I didn't yet put over the wood texture)!
Nice! Do the leaves fall with it, and does this work with huge trees?
Pretty cool idea dude! This is most likely going to kill me more than any other mod I've ever known :PPretty cool idea dude! Hi i was wondering if you needed anyone to do textures for the herbs/plants and the water stuff and the backpacks all i ask is minor credit for the final mod if you want to contact me add me on skype riotgaurs101 btw the s wasn't a typo i messed it up when i made my name
Thanks, but I've been the texture maker from the start, and most textures are already finished.
please make bows more deadly for this mod aswell because it shouldnt take 3 - 4 shots to kill a cow it should take 1 for chicken 1 for pig but it slowly bleeds to death (poison) 2 for cow plus bleeding 1 for sheep plus bleeding or just make bows one shot all but cows which is 2 shot
and with animals make it so when you kill it its body stays on the floor until you hit it with a hunting knife and you get the meat and some bones
Bows can do more damage, but they'll be MUCH less accurate, as is realistic for a bow made from nothing but a bent stick and some string.
Wow. Don't think that's what he had in mind . It's probably something that shouldn't be focused on too much right now, in early development, but a bleeding mechanic would be interesting. In hunting with bows, it is common that you get a good shot, then the animal runs for a bit, then collapses.

Maybe as your experience bar goes up bow shots get more accurate? Also there could be multiple experience bars for combat, defence, smelting and mabye farming?
Also add a few new mobs to make nights more challenging (than they already are!) Add reptile that hunt in the night- Komodo or like little poisonous lizards and maybe a few snakes. Also you could keep the spiders just make them a tad smaller
These ideas are awesome. Someone really needs to add these to minecraft (as a mod...). I think you should also add more aggressive mobs like lions, bears, and other wild animals that would hurt you. You should also add a mob, mice, which will eat your bread and wheat out of you chest unless you add an iron lock to it. Of course, when you use the lock it will give you a key to that lock.
I really like this idea!
A few suggestions I have are:
-Have animals drop more items. Killing a single cow would give you A LOT more meat than two steaks. And it would leave behind a lot more hide than 2 pieces.
-Change the cow's leather drop to hide or something similar. Hide would have to be tanned (in whatever way you think is fitting) to make leather.
-Different tree types. Instead of just Oak (and Dark oak), Spruce, Birch, Jungle, and Acacia trees, there could also be Apple, Orange, Redwood, Palm, and Maples. In the Apple and Orange trees almost every leaf block would drop apples/oranges when broken, the palm could be used for coconuts, the Maple could be tapped for syrup, and the redwood would just be tall.
-Along the lines of the above idea; increase the time it takes for saplings to grow up.
-Add a heat meter that slowly runs down in high altitudes or in cold, snowy biomes. (Similar to the Frostbite Mod idea)

If I think of any other suggestions, I post it.
