Can someone make a mod for me that replaces the new sounds with the old ones? I don't know about anyone else, but personally, I hate the new sounds. Their too squicky (squiky?), especially the doors and chests.
I know I hate the new sounds especially the new sound for when you get hurt, the one for skeletons firing arrows at you and the new enderman sound just sounds weird.

You guys, the sound files are kept in "C:\Users\your-username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resources\newsound".
They're .ogg files, and you can replace them with whatever files you want.
All you have to do is find an old copy of Minecraft and copy the sounds from that into the right folders.
When you're done, select the files you changed, right-click, and select "Properties".
After that, make sure to check "Read-only".
That way when Minecraft updates, your sound files won't be changed.
I did this for the rain, because it's ungodly loud.
I imagine many of you also want quieter rain, so here's a quick tutorial:
Download Audacity (it's free!), then navigate to
"C:\Users\your-username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resources\newsound\ambient\weather",
open "rain1.ogg" in Audacity, press CTRL+A to select all the sound, then go to "Effect" and click "Amplify".
Set the Amplification (db) setting to something like -4 (that's negative four) to start,
and then hit "Preview", which will play the sound so you can check if it's quiet enough.
Keep playing with numbers until you get a result you like, then hit OK.
Go to "File", then "Export...", make sure to navigate back to the weather folder,
and make sure that "Ogg Vorbis Files" is selected from the dropdown box.
Press save, then, as I mentioned above, go to the properties for your new "rain1.ogg" file,
and make sure to check "Read-only", then press OK, and now it won't be "fixed" when Minecraft updates!
And that, is why I want a mod like this.
