I got an idea earlier today for a mod to make minecraft more real. I of course lack the skills to do it so i hope someone will be inspired to work on it.
The idea is to make Minecraft as real as possible, I hope this could be accomplished by adding the following things into the game
1. Cave-ins: this basically means that whilst mining at a certain depth, when you strike a rock there is a slight chance of a cave-in. the section of the world that you're in will start shaking, rocks from the ceiling will start falling, etc.
2. waves/tsunamis: what this will do is add a more real ocean to the game. in a body of water of a certain size and depth, there is a slight chance that a tsunami will occur, which will flood everything for a far as it goes, and you can also be carried away by them. In the waves portion, it adds a ripple effect to the game, meaning that if a large portion of sand falls into water, it will create wave on all sides, the bigger the amount of blocks, the larger the wave.
3. Earthquakes: this one is pretty self explanatory, but basically every so often an earthquake occurs, rated on a scale of 1 to 10 of course the smaller the rating the larger the occurrence, 1 being very small and hardly noticeable, and from then on the power multiplies by ten, just like the rector scale, and also the larger the earthquake the more a chance of it causing a tsunami or cave-in. The earthquake can destroy structures as well, and they are more powerful closer to where they originated. Lastly certain materials are resistant to earthquakes, but not completely, such as iron blocks are more resistant than wood, but less resistant than obsidian
4. Faults: this is like the ravines in 1.8 but a bit different. Faults appear randomly in the world, they are normally sudden drop-offs or large ravines, this is where the earthquakes originate, so they are not a good place to build a home. when they are ravines the bottoms are normally filled with lava, sudden drop offs are more common as well
5. Volcanoes/Geysers: Volcanoes have three different types, Strato, which explode outwards (like mount saint helens), Shield, Which has runny lava coming from the top, and, spatter cones, which form clumps of lava that shoot out of the vent usually a couple feet wide. volcanoes generally form near faults but occasionally form elsewhere, volcanoes do form over time, but will spawn in the beginning. geysers generally form near volcanoes or faults, but will also form where the crust is thin. geysers spew out boiling water at fixed intervals, this water block will of course be different from the other, geysers sizes, spray intervals and reach will vary.
any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated, and i really hope i inspired some of you to create this mod
note: all volcanoes listed are real, and everything on here does occur in the real world, im not that creative
I am currently making a mod that kinda does your cave in idea but Coros's Mods already have volcanoes and tornadoes and he will be adding earthquakes and tsunamis

does his mod have the in depth volcanoes like my idea? if so then thank you for the mod.
i just don't really want the unrealistic volcanoes like people think of them
don't mean to sound like a ****, i just won't be interested if it's not realistic

no. Basically they only come if you make a volcano source block, but he says he's working on making them generate naturally and maybe have their own biome.
