Will mods that are of version 1.15.2 be compatible with version 1.16 when it releases? If they aren't then that's a whole lot of waiting for mod updates
They probably won't considering how its worked before. Any mods that affect the nether will be broken for sure. Same thing with forge. It will have to be rewritten like every version before.
Fabric will be available, they have been for snapshots since 18w50a in 1.14 and haven't stopped even available for April Fools twice and Combat Snapshots. But if you take a look at my forum threads you can see many that are for 1.15.2 have made there way to 1.16 since 20w06a and are available for 20w15a, and many exist that are 1.16 ready/exclusive mods already.
When it comes to Forge mods they will take a while depending on how 1.16 changed as the world gen or other technical aspects like the 3D biomes could be a big challenge I think (I'm no expert programmer so I don't know). I don't think it will be 1.13.2 long but can only guess.
