I did buy beta, after years not playing i have found the mojang microsoft mess, i though the free windows 10 edition copy was a good idea, so i accepted and started playing. Now i see every add on is paid and that the only sh1t available are bad taste extremelly naive christmas/alien/castle and the like texture packs. Not anything like chocapic-continuum/seus you know.
Do you think this kind of addons will move also to this edition or this will end being the Minecraft Windows 10 Pariah Edition.
Also which subforum is the one for WIndows 10 edition. Ive read pocket and Windows 10 are the same, but ive also read they are NOT the same.
And can i still play the java version, can i install it in windows 10 pc even if i already have the windows 10 edition already sat there. Do still maintain the java version or will it be phased out.
But there is nothing like the realistic graphic mods. Ive already installed java version as i waited. And now i have no idea what to do. Becasue as i lurked on the issue of world exporting between editions, they say it is theoretically possible to just conver data from one to the other (save data=/=code) with minor lack of equivalencies like non existing blocks and the like. But as i searched i found some people begging to get their worlds exported from the java version to the windows 10 edition. And even some comments questioning the long term continuity of the java version.
Wut. I mean if the windows 10 editions is so fenced in terms of free awesome mods, why experienced player with huge worlds are asking for a converter to move to the windows 10 edition.
Ive just rescued my java save and it has been funny to see how paranoid i was about been assaulted and raped by a mob while sleeping so i had my bed in an inner bedrom the size of the be and in a S shape so noone specially a creeper would look at me from the bedroom door and surrounded by a gazillion torches xD.
But ive seen lot of issues. The game menu does NOT recognize minecraft save version, says version unknown, date 2012.
Also colors are sorry to say worst than the windows 10 edition, bamboo to say one is too dark in java.
But the worst is that ive found a gazillion mobs around like 4 or 5 times what you find in the Windows 10 one. Also far more aggressive. And that you need to be eating almost constantly like every 60 second it is absurd.
First and foremost, Microsoft doesn't limit content creators on how they distribute their content. The marketplace is simply there for those who want the exposure and revenue. There's still lots of free content available, most of it is available over at MCPE DL far as I know.
Moving on to shaders, there are shaders available for Bedrock (Windows 10 Edition), but they are very simple as the shaders implementation on Bedrock is currently very restrictive. The game doesn't give much information for shaders to use, there is no support for shadow maps (so traditional shadowing isn't possible), no support for depth buffers (so effects like raytraced screen-space shadows, reflections, AO, etc are much harder to do, nigh impossible for most developers), and the game only gives shaders a single post-process shader to use (the vignette shader), so you can't compound effects like we can on Java Edition with Optifine (so things like volumetric light, raytraced shadows, etc cannot be filtered, leaving a noise pattern through the effect). All of these limitations leave shaders with only a handful of effects. Things like customised lighting colours, new clouds, cubemapped reflections, custom skies, colour correction, etc. None of the fancy effects we can do on our shaders.
There is an upcoming update to Bedrock that'll completely overhaul the shaders implementation, bringing it effectively up to the same level as Optifine, if not slightly better. We don't know exactly when it'll be released, at the latest it'll be released alongside the Super Duper Graphics pack. Maybe a bit earlier. Once this comes, expect Bedrock shaders to really pick up. We, as in all the Java shader devs, are already talking to a couple Bedrock shader devs, so yeah.
