I've recently rejoined the Minecraft community after 2 years of just not touching it. Now I have no idea of what exactly or whatever I'm supposed to do with this "Forge Energy," I just cannot seem to understand it.
Basically, I'm playing some good ol' Survival with a ton of mods, Refined Storage included. Now I've looked at the Refined Storage Wiki on how to create a network and store some stuff in it, but it says that the Controller requires "Forge Energy." I have scoured any thread there is or ever will be on either here or Reddit or whatever and simply cannot seem to understand how to produce or generate this "Forge Energy." (TL;DR section) Can someone give me some sort of explanation on how to get the Controller to work using Forge Energy so that I can get my chests to be less ugly?
The Storage network needs some kind of energy to operate. It was called Restone Flux in the ole days. In the latest versions, there isn't a standard energy type like RF was.
Your modpack probably has generators or some means of generating energy to power machines.

Well, I believe I currently have IC2, Thermal Expansion, Tesla, and Tech Reborn (if it is one) installed, but I have absolutely no idea how to power any of them. I would honestly just cheat and get a prepowered Controller and be done with it but I promised myself no more cheating in Survival. I always used to cheat and it just made the game boring (doiii).
Thermal Expansion has several generators called Dynamos to make power for the network and other machines. IC2 has generators to make power, but IC2 uses its own power version (i.e. IC2 only).
Is this your own modpack or did you download one? I would highly recommend doing some research on the mod's wikis to help you out.

Ah no, it's my own. I honestly couldn't be bothered with a modpack that doesn't have mods I want. Anyway, I gave up and just cheated in the Creative Controller and the rest was done properly. Thanks for the help tho! I'll try Thermal Expansion's generators in a creative world and see what I come up with.
