So there's this server I want to go on, but it's blocking one of my mods. So I can't use it with that mod installed. Is there a way to rename that mod so the server doesn't recognize it? That way I could play with said mod installed?
This mod is a client side mod, as in something similar to Rei's minimap. It would not conflict with anything so again. If someone could tell me how to rename a mod that would be great.
As far as I know, you'd have to edit the actual code in the mod, (which would require the program eclipse and some knowledge of java code). So you might instead try a different minimap mod.
The mod isn't Rei's minimap, that was given just as an example. What parts of the code would I have to change if I wanted to rename it could you please tell me?
I will assume you know how to code, but unfortunately I don't really know myself (I'm learning to code myself so I only know a little). so you might try to find a tutorial, I will look as well.
Well I used WinRAR to extract the .jar file and then used JD GUI to change the .class files and there I found the name and changed it. But it caused conflict within the mod itself and some of its coding , through hours of hard work, changed every line of code with the old name in it to the new name aaaaaaaaaaand it became corrupt and it wont work anymore. I really don't know what to do anymore :/
Mind telling us the name of the mod? (Without it we're kinda lost, aren't we)
I'll have to assume it's VoxelMap or Xaero's Minimap. Those are the only others I can think of off hand, unless you coded it yourself (and if you had we wouldn't be here, lol).
It's a one of a kind unfortunately so I really don't know what to do anymore...
I think your forgetting one very important point: if the server blocks a mod, DO NOT use that mod. Have you read the server rules about mods? IMO, your going through a lot of trouble for the possibility of getting banned.

Exactly what I was thinking.
@Xenomorphy000, what server is it that's causing the "problems"?

Nope. Besides, most mods conflict on any server if the server doesn't have it. Don't know why.
