Right now I have a mod that add storage chest that you can put on walls and stuff and fill each one with one specific item and on the front of it is a picture of what item that chest is full of. Is there a better option than this?
What I was thinking is maybe a creative menu type thing that stores everything you pick up and you can only take out what you have put in.
Applied Energistics 2 introduces the ME network. It's pretty much literally a powerful computer system, and appropriately expensive. I suppose it's the gold standard for inventory management in survival worlds.
I think ComputerCraft or OpenComputers has a similar type of network, but I've never played with them yet.
I believe you have something like JABBA? Storage Drawers allows you to store multiple (up to 4) item types in the same block, but at a much less dense capacity (between 4 and 32 stacks), and it has specialized drawers to handle compressible items like ores. It also has a controller block, which is able to automatically pull and push items out of drawers within 12 blocks in any direction "wirelessly" (without needing pipes). It's nifty, but mods like AE2 or EnderIO have much better interfaces that are either compatible withor supercede StorageDrawers.
EnderIO, as of the (beta) 2.3.0 version, has an inventory panel item.

Sounds complicated but I'll take a look. Thanks.
