Ok, so far I have Dungeon Mobs, Grimoire 3, Thermal Expansion, and the vanilla hostiles. I want more mods that add hostile mobs. Preferably ones that add absolutely nothing else. Especially challenging and tiered hostiles. It would be a bonus if they can be configured, in case I find them to be too weak. In fact, if someone is up to making a mod that adds tons of varying hostiles for my server to use, it would be great if they added support for enchiridian 2, whereas it would add a book on the hostiles encountered, with detailed and epic lore and backstories and "discover as you go" information about each hostile. I seriously look forward to having well over 200 varying hostile mobs in the short term, and 1000+ hopefully by the end of the year.
If it helps you understand any: I've been working on making my server more and more unique, starting from the mods in it, on to the challenges, and at the moment I am configuring class after class after class through the heros plugin to make it more tiered of a play. I've also been revising what items would be allowed overall as compared to what items won't be allowed at all, both from vanilla and from the mods in the server. The server is more to the science, guns, giant mechs, and heavy artillery side of minecraft. And really, I can't help but wish someone would make a variant of Orespawn where literally all it would add is the hostiles, no ants, no termites, no peaceful critters, and for the love of masochism, none of the items/gear ore drops... Just... Hostiles...
If someone is up to making a mod for me, please let me know and ask away about anything you would like to know about my ideas for it. I can't say I'm very good at drawing or making a mod, but I'm a hefty idealist and I'm looking forward to seeing this one through in every way I'm capable of.

Lycanite's Mobs sounds like what you're looking for . I'd also recommend Special Mobs, Special AI, Infernal mobs, Mutant Creatures, and the Deadly World mod.
Can't do lycs mobs, as much as i talk to the guy who made it, his mod adds magic staffs and that would go against the science theme of my server because players aren't supposed to do anything unexplainable by science. I've been looking into special mobs and ai, infernal is a no go for many gear related reasons, and mutant creatures is a no go because of bugs and the INCOMPLETE mob that bypasses grief prevention and turns entire bases into cobwebs, including replacing chests with them.

The items can disabled in the lycanitesmobs-general.cfg.
Also, in the Mutant Creatures mod, the INCOMPLETE mob(the spiderpig) can be disabled in the config.
