Hello guys, so I am trying to install modded minecraft onto a USB drive. I'm struggling quite a lot with getting everything properly working.
So I have a simple minecraft folder on my drive, where there are the folders game, runtime, and save. I can get minecraft to run normally like that, and it works fine. When I try to install forge into that folder I get an error saying "this directory is missing a launcher profile". If I install forge into the normal appdata/roaming/.minecraft it works fine, and installs the correct folders into my G:\Minecraft folder, but I know if I was to try and boot this on a computer without the appdata/roaming/.minecraft folder it wouldn't work, as it's still relying on that folder.
Have any of you done this before? How did you get it to work?
Update, temporarily removed my appdata/roaming/.minecraft to test this independantly. Even with the game location set to G:\Minecraft, it creates these folders.
