Hello Minecraft Forum,
I have been playing FTB for a while, using Sphax PureBDCraft 64x (http://bdcraft.net/) and have been enjoying it very well. My Apple computer has 16 gigabytes of RAM, 3.1 GHz, and Intel Core i7, and I have allocated 9Gs of RAM to FTB in the launcher settings. But, I am still running Minecraft with 30-40 frames per second, and the debug information (by pressing fn F3) says it it using only 3-4% of the allocated memory. I would like to run it a little smoother and maybe even try higher resolution texture packs, considering how much RAM I have . Thanks for your help guys!
Usually the problem with Minecraft isnt the RAM, its usually the graphic card or the CPU. What you could do is lowering the render distance a little, since it eases up a lot of the burden on the system, OR you can install the Optifine Mod(if you arent using it), to better your fps by a decent amount.

OK, well, I'm still wondering why FTB only uses 4% of the RAM, even though it would run better with it. Is there a way to set the minimum RAM?
Hi, I tried Optifine, and it works pretty well, but I am still wondering about the RAM thing (look at above posts). If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to post them.:)
