This is most likely a common problem, but I can't find a place that says anything about it, so help would be great. I'm an MCPatcher user, by the way.
So there are quite a few mods I want to use that require both Risugami's Modloader and Minecraft Forge to function properly, but when ever I try to use both ModLoader and Forge at the same time, they conflict and it won't work. How do I fix this?
You see, modloader and Forge make changes to the same .class files. So the Forge files contain both their changes AND modloader changes. That's why you need to install Forge after modloader.
This is why people should learn to do something for themselves first and then start using utilities to do it for them.
Well, I patched them and whenever I launched my world, it crashed!
1.Don`t use MCPatcher to install mods
2.Install modloader into the minecraft.jar (and make sure it is in the minecraft.jar not mods folder!)
3.Then install the latest version of forge into the minecraft.jar after modloader (AND MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL IT AFTER MODLOADER)
There your done.
NOTE: If you wan`t to have HD Texture packs do the steps above and then open MCPatcher and click on your required options than click patch

Your minecraft should work
You, my friend, are correct. But remember, if you do hit patch, you will be forced to re install ModLoader then Minecraft Forge.

No not exactly
When MCPatcher runs for the first time it will create a minecraft*insert version number here*.jar in your bin folder this is basiclly a copy of your current minecraft.jar thus if you wanna delete your current one and roll back to your old one that's how you do it
The exception is this is the minecraft.jar that will run in mcpatcher (not your current minecraft.jar your minecraft 1.2.5.jar) thus overriding your old one when you hit run mcpatcher that's why your forced to re-install forge and modloader this is why you install the API's before hand or else you'll get problems

Then just give up.
There is no way to install forge with mcpatcher without getting any problems you have to the solution above or else your minecraft won't work
After that you can then use mcpatcher to install other mods
...I don't know HOW to install mods without MCPatcher.
That's why I use MCPatcher.
Well then learn to go read a mod's thread for help and instructions
This is all i can help you with
My opinion with a same situation:
I use 7-zip, and I like installing as much mods as I can, but the problem is I run a small free version of 7-zip, and family does not wanna pay more money for this game, so here is my solution:
Can someone please!, make a modpack with the essentials like modloader, forge, audio mod, spawner gui, etc(I might post a thread looking for this.

...I THOUGHT 7-ZIP WAS FREE FOR FULL?...
Yes, 7-Zip is free for all purposes. But most free software is also sold (illegally, might I add) by third parties, because there are many users such as frostyboys and his family who can easily be tricked into buying it still.
People want money, and some of them don't care how they get it. Selling open source software is quite profitable as the average human is not so knowledgeable.
Edit: I stumbled across this topic because I was researching a similar problem. Forge and AudioMod weren't playing nice together. The solution: Forges's sd.class has AudioMod support, so make sure Forge overwrites AudioMod and not the other way around.

That`s why you install forge after each mod API as it`s the one causing the conflicts the most
PLEASE. ONLY REPLY IF YOU'RE GOING TO TELL ME HOW TO DO THIS CORRECTLY BY USING MCPATCHER.
The latest version of Forge includes Forge Mod Loader for the client so you only need forge build 114, not ModLoader. Also, you can use Magic Launcher.

Does this mean that mods which normally require ModLoader and ModLoaderMP will work with Forge, and does this also apply to the server?
If you try to run a server with MLMP and Forge at the same time, you get a long "not compatible" error and it shuts down.

I tried and still got this message
ModLoader
Forge
adl.class
ahg.class
ahu.class
alb.class
amn.class
fq.class
ko.class
vl.class
Only the files from Forge will be used.
are you on a MAC or PC?
