What is Unlimited Bits?
Unlimited Bits is a modding team for Minecraft. Our main goal is to make mods that everyone will love and are really realistic or special. We also have another goal: teach Minecraft modding to others!
Why should I join Unlimited Bits?
We give a good place to work other members and have a lot fun. You will make mods with other members of the team and you can even ask to add your own mods to our mods page, with somewhere secured to let people download your mods, without worry of SOPA closing the website that hosts your files!
What kind of people are you looking for?
We are currently looking for 3 new members: an advanced programmer, a sound maker, and a novice. All jobs are important so we need someone to take the places we have!
You said you are looking for a novice, what are you talking about?
A novice is someone that wants to learn coding. You will work during 2 weeks with a programmer to learn coding, and you will have to make a mod with him. But you don't really make the mod with him, he will work with you and tell you what to do, he will only make code for you to give you examples or for really hard things or fixing bugs. This is designed to provide a structured walk through of making a mod.
Nice! I want to join your team! What do I have to do?
Simply go to our website! You will have to go to our forums and fill out an application. If you are accepted after you submit an application, and depending on what job you chose, there will be 3 different steps (Step 1: Fill out the application; Step 2: A live test on Skype; Step 3: A live chat with the team leader to ask you more personal questions).
And if I have a question?
You can ask your questions here, or on our forum in the "Join the team!" section.
So, to make it short, we are looking for 3 members (Advanced programmer, Novice and a Sound Maker). You can apply to join the team on our forum and ask questions here!
I'm a coder that is part of the Unlimited Bits team. Just wanted to say that our first mod is underway, but we're looking to add on to our beneficiaries. Another experienced coder would be warmly welcomed, so as to distribute some of the weight. Also, I will be helping the first novice to join our team in making a mod! I have not decided what the project will be yet, so maybe you and I could work something out.
The novice position has been taken! So if you wanted us to teach you modding, well, it's too late! But we are still looking for an advanced coder and someone to make us wonderful sounds!
Ok, ill try to be more specific when Im talking about an advanced coder. We need someone who can make us some custom animations, a new enchantment a new potion effect that would temporary make the brightness higher, and a randomly generated structure (we call them R.G.S.)
I would like to do models for entities. I can't code them in (but that's what coders are for )
Also for the team you guys will need someone to help with the textures (not me, I was just pointing that out )

Do you have any other talents that you could contribute? Or maybe you would like to join the novice program after our current one? Someone who was exceptional at modding would be nice, but more talents would be good too
Yeah, I was just wondering if any of you needed help along these lines because yes programmers are important, but you guys appear to not be looking at the big picture.I believe a dedicated model maker and a dedicated texture maker are required for any big/highquality mods. Just my opinion. If not I would be happy to do any banner making or something of the sort (also I could do bug testing to help you guys out whenever you need it)

Concerning the arts, we have everything we need at the moment. making 16px X 16 px picture does not require a high level of skills. Every member of the team is able to make their own textures, and if someone can make it, or just don't have any idea, he ask to the other members of the team.
We dont need a modeler, but we do need tomeone to do a sketch for a mob, but I think I have an idea so we are not looking for this kind of people.
Once the project will be announced, we will open our tester positions, but only a limited amount of people would be able to test it, and will have to accept our conditions like no distribution of any copies or informations.
Even if we say that we are not looking for some people, you can always apply on our forum, tyour application will be put in a list where we will go if we are looking for someone (even if the list is not created yet)
I'm sorry for the age and microphone restriction. We made an age restriction because we want mature people (even if its possible to have a 23 years old guy who is really immature) and the microphone is used to make the rest of the application faster.
We are still looking for new member! Take your chance! Even if you think you wont be accepted (because there is a lot of chance that you will be accepted!)
Sorry, you MUST be at least 16 years old to join the team. I know its really restrictive but we have to do this in order to make it easier to manage, and also to get the best team experience as possible.
Hello, I'm interested in joining as a novice. As when I leave school, I wish to go into programming and game design, you wouldn't just be giving me something to do; you would be helping me build my future life.
PLEASE Skype me, I'm Colby Stein.
(I believe someone from your team commented on a topic of mine, in which I called for modders.)
We are not looking for another novice right now. But you can always post your application on our forum. We will keep it and when a new place will be available for a novice, we will contact you.
