I'm very familiar with the whole "You can't distribute your jar file, it's illegal" etc etc.
However, I'm very curious as to whether or not I would be able to, say, make a single rar file of class files of two or three mods, and distribute that (making sure its a one time drag&drop into a jar) and have that be the easiest way to install mods?
So essentially, two questions:
a) Is that legal?
:cool.gif: Is it possible?
Thanks for your time and responses in advance,

Are we talking about the class files in the minecraft.jar or class files form the mods?
Only from the mods
Of course it goes unsaid also that I would take absolutely no credit. I'm just looking to package mods much more easily for my subscribers on my YouTube
I agree with birjolaxew. Copyright, although usually present in publications with as little as a (c) 2011, is not require to retain the rights to your work. That is why open-source computer programs rely on things like GNU. GNU in some ways specifies a lack of copyright, but the default is that you have no right to redistribute others work, even if you give credit. Yes, there is a system for registering your work, but patents are the only thing that REQUIRES registration to be in effect.

If they are, ask the makers of the mods for permission.
Are you SURE?
