...This has probably been said thousands of times before, but is there a way you could make it so it shows users on the map too? And maybe set markers to follow them? :tongue.gif:
If it IS possible, please implement it now, before I am forced to release the creeper squad unto your house.
(having already downloaded the mod_zan_minimap file) dragged and dropped the whole file into the unarchived minecraft.jar folder...compressed all items in the folder...renamed the .zip file minecraft.jar...deleted original, put new one in it's place, restarted Minecraft...
unfortunately this hasn't worked...could someone tell me where I went wrong?
EDIT: found another tut that said to delete META-INF folder...did that too...still not working
NOOB to modding like me?
don't delete minecraft.jar and rename the .zip to .jar .
Drag the files in the zip to the jar.
because you delete the jar means you delete all the stuff needed to run the game.
(sorry I windows user and it is more simple for you don't need to use the terminal or cmd for (sort of) everything!)
I downloaded the mods for minecraft ver 1.2_2 and er uh they arent working they crash my game i cant start it.
I really need these mods i have huge minecart systems and i keep getting lost when i die.

The method above my post is ok for people who just use zan's minimap or a few other mods, but if you don't want to start from scratch, delete the files you put in your bin\minecraft.jar.

I downloaded it and played with it successfully until i went to a crafting bench. I right clicked and got a black screen and now my minecraft.jar is screwed. I tryed deleting and re-downloading minecraft.jar but i can't access anything because of the black screen. Any ideas for fixing this?

Use a debugger for black screens. I have one from Shockah's minerals! mod. Using one would give us the essential information we need to solve your problem.
being able to right click to go BACKWARDS a color would help immensely, mentioned it earlier in the thread.
Not sure if this thread is even being monitored with regards to the mod, since someone else took it over. The guy who took it over asked for feedback to go in his thread instead. But others keep posting here so I'll just throw it in here too.
I've tried installing Zan's minimap both using an installer.command
and unarchiving my minecraft.jar folder, dumping Zan's folder, deleting META-INF folder.
But both methods Minecraft freezes on the updating screen.
I'm using 1.2_02 so shouldn't be any reason for trouble...
any ideas?
Install it the same way you installed Modloader (using mctmp dir)
This video is extremely unhelpful for someone who isn't already savvy on downloading mods and texture packs. I have no idea what a .jar file is, when I extract and run the zmod it says main class cannot be found. I know absolutely nothing about any of this, and all of the advice given, is based off seemingly basic information that everyone else but me has. It all goes right over my head because I don't have that basic information.
A step by step manual for example. Most of the early steps are skipped because they are obvious to everyone else.

And in before "use modloader", I have no idea if that is working at all or not.
Help?
