So since I bought minecraft, I have been interested in the void under the map. My plan was to find a way to build a base "beneath" the world, with nothing but void below. The easiest way to do this was the make a modded map. I did not like that approach; I wanted a natural map, but with no bedrock. I could edit the map to replace bedrock with air, but newly generated land would still have bedrock.
Not liking either of these solutions, I decompiled the game, found the block properties, and edited bedrock to be destroyable (3 times the strength of obsidian). It drops bedrock when destroyed as expected. Now my game has bedrock that I can destroy to clear out an area and build a base hanging above the void.
I tried the hack on my own (unmodded) server, and the bedrock would instantly reappear when I destroyed it.
So now my question is, is anyone else interested in this mod, and am I allowed to upload the modified class? If I am not allowed, I can tell you what values you need to edit with a hex editor to create the mod yourself (if I am allowed to do that of course).

<Khusa> the creepers are baby dragons
<Gunmage> Instead of spitting out fire they hold it in until they burst like balloons
<Lisimba> So if you would give a creeper a laxative, would it turn into a real dragon?
I don't see much use in that, other than making deadly pits to fall in and giving you bedrock to build with. How would you build under the bottom layer?

Do not wallow do not stall
Time waits for none at all
Your allowance may crawl,
It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished
Than time lost to all.
1) Extract lw.class
2) Open it in a hex editor
3) At offset 0x10, replace BF 80 00 00 with 41 20 00 00
4) At offset 0x83, replace 4A B7 1B 00 with 45 BB 80 00
5) Save, insert into jar, delete META-INF
6) Destroyable bedrock

It's sort of stupid, but perhaps if you dumped all of your inventory into a chest save for a single block that you intend to build with, jumped down through the hole, and quickly tried to look up and stick the block on, you may be able to build down far enough to make a base over several lives. Sounds stupid, but I think it may be interesting to build a "tower" all the way down to the very bottom.
Actually, speaking of towers... if someone could recreate the upside-down Stone Tower Temple from Majora's Mask below the map without hax (aside from Psycho's hex editing), I would get down on my knees and accept them as my lord and savior for all eternity. FORGE ONWARD, BRAVE PSYCHO; FOR GLORY AND SCIENCEand lulz!!
What I meant is clearing out say, the bottom 20 or so layers, and building there, above the void, below the world.

Reason:
You don't die if you just go a few blocks below bedrock. You need to keep falling, till you start decreasing in health.
However, it is also kinda pointless.
Reason: Once you destroy bedrock, how do you propose building under it? There's nothing under bedrock, so unless you have a fly mod, you can't place any block under bedrock.
if you did break bedrock u fall down under the bedrock world then you just die.
So Yeh
How the furk do u guys not know about flying mods???!!!
