When it was brought to the artist's attention that it did not tile, the artist said "This will not be!". Enlivened by his creative will, pixels slid most gracefully, forming new shapes, and made all their edges compatible. And when the last pixel fell into its place, the artist said "Behold, it is done. The cobbles splay from one tile to another, crossing all edges as if there weren't there." And it was so!
That having been said, i think the stones on cobblestone bricks should be made of larger, rougher stones, like its actually made of good size stones bound together? That, and i think some more detail and depth to the stones is in order.
Lets think of the mortar they'd be using to paste stones together? 'Twas sort of a whitish shade.
I think the iron block should be brighter and shinier than smooth stone with a hint of oxidation so maybe a tiny bit of rust on a corner or a light brownish tint.

Don't worry, LG_Legacy, I'm primarily making this for In(f)dev (but I'll release a Creative version, too). I'm considering making a "lite" version of my texturepack, as well. It'd be brighter, more colorful, and have less contrast. Essentially, it'd be more like vanilla MC, but with all the stuff I've drawn.
Here's the new style I've been experimenting with for cloth armor. I figured, since there's no way I could possibly explain cloth protecting from arrows, at least I can make it look decent. That led me to experimenting with robes and a hood.
(The blue spot on his abdomen is from the shirt he's wearing underneath the cloth armor - it's not part of the armor itself. The same goes for the black on his legs and arms.)
I considered that, but decided upon white for three reasons:
1) The cloth you use to make it is white
2) White compliments more colors than brown (it'll look good on more players' skins)
3) Brown would look too much like leather
Of course, there's nothing stopping anyone from changing its color to anything they want, once I release it.

I just wish to bring this fact back to attention, as well as state i am against the adition of rust to iron blocks. Because. You know. Rust looks like crap.
When I think cobblestone, i think and appreciate something like this
I suppose voting for iron color may be the best idea. Looks like I'll need to draw the iron armor next, then.
Gold armor:
As you can see, I'm making each type of armor completely different. I'm attempting to not recreate any one particular historical style of armor, but am rather attempting to mix Roman, medieval European, and Japanese styles into something good-looking, but not tied to any particular setting. Gold armor is meant to look highly ornamental (because there's no way gold armor could actually be practical). It's based off of some French and Crusades influences.
Okay, iron armor is done (for now, at least). Let's start choosing what iron looks like, shall we?
The following four pictures show off the armor, a tile of iron ore, a tile of stone, and a tile of iron.
The first choice is the MC default: Iron ore is dusty rose color, iron is grey.
The second choice has both iron and iron ore colored grey.
The third choice is the same as the second, except iron ore is lighter.
The fourth choice has both iron and iron ore a dusty rose color.

I said *diamond* looks great and *gold* could be improved.
That does make sense but if you think of it I've never seen a building made of diamond, either :wink.gif:

Cloth armor is good too.
Maybe you should make multiple versions of iron and have a vote for the best, color wise.

Opinions, anyone?
Though #3 is pretty good also.
