Great tools that save time are WIN.
Nice work there, could I have permission to edit it for ".mine" files and add it to YAMME? I'll add "Credits for compression/decompression to Atomic" or something similar, of course. If not, I'll just recommend it anyway.

<Quatroking> Minecraft is a dozen of puppies and kittens smashed into cubes, then mixed up with a few ounces of pure liquid rainbow and after that it spends two hours in the oven. Ready to be played by another drooling ten-year old
Substitute your mcc.bat by this one, it should keep the console open after execution so you guys can copy/paste the screen here to help me identify the bug.
Start/Run..
Type cmd and press OK
Use cd to change to the folder you keep mcc (i.e.: cd c:/Minecraft)
Type mcc.bat mapname
Press Enter and paste here the results
Use cd to change to the folder you keep mcc (i.e.: cd c:/Minecraft)
I didn't understand what you meant by "cd." But I tried it from the command prompt. I generated a map with ZOMG and named it "test." This is what I got when using mcc.bat thru the command prompt:
C:\Documents and Setting\Andy>Desktop\mcc.bat test
Compressing map test...
'7za' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
The system cannot find the file specified.
I'm using Windows XP. Just to make sure I'm not missing anything: your program consists of 7za.exe, mcc.bat, and mcdc.bat, right?

That's right, are you sure you have 7za.exe on the same folder as mcc.bat?
If yes try with this one.
@andy11493: cd means "change directory" - it's a command. You type "cd" and then the folder name to browse through folders. You can type "cd Desktop" and then "cd Minecraft Level Zipper" to go to a "Minecraft Level Zipper" folder, or I think you can just put the full directory as Atomic did in his example (starting with c:\).
I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic. I tried the first one you uploaded and I tried it with the new mcc.bat you last posted. I dragged and dropped the level file onto mcc.bat and it just gave me a screen for a split second like with other people.
Then I did the cmd method. I literally typed "mcc.bat mapname" the first time. In case anyone else was confused, you're supposed to put your level file's name where Atomic's instructions say "mapname".
I typed it right the next time and it worked just fine.
My map was named level and I renamed the DAT file to server_level.dat
I tested it in multiplayer. I connected to the server, then the game crashed immediately. I was having the same problem when I did the gzipping myself, so I was hoping your program would do the trick... I guess I must have had some wrong settings in the level generator. I'll try some other settings in that, I guess... By the way, what's a "seed"? As far as computing goes, I only know "seeds" for their relation to torrents.
This was my error when I tried to play the game, by the way:
Client error
The game broke! [java.lang.NullPointerException]

Blessed is he who expects nothing for he shall never be disappointed.
I want the map to be flat, so I had messiness, distortion, and scale as 0... does 0.1 work? Well, I'm about to find out, I guess. But now I know I can set the trees and stuff to 0, thanks.
edit: Yes, 0.1 works.

To compress all you have to do is drop one or more map files without extension on mcc and it will output the compressed maps with .dat extension.
To decompress drop one or more map files with .dat extension on mcdc and it will output the uncompressed maps without extesion.

The only options with numbers should be mapsize, Messiness, Distortion, Scale, & Seed.
edit: Yes, 0.1 works.
