I think Elephants would be a nice addition. Large, powerful, peaceful unless provoked. Drop bone and maybe tusks that can be used to craft a ivory sword or something? Sorry if any of these are posted somewhere.... I read through but I am prone to miss stuff.
Also maybe:
*Elephants - Trainable with a saddle. Use tree leaves cut with shears to start training them.
*Trainable Hawks - will hunt chickens and fight for you, craft a leather glove to train them with maybe.
*Whales - largest creatures in minecraft. Peaceful.
*Penguins - arctic areas - Peaceful, may even flee if player gets to close. Lays eggs.
*Polar Bears - Change - make them hunt Penguins.
*Walrus - arctic, can break through ice and attack players and hunts the penguins.Drops bones,meat.
*Gorillas - Jungle area - will attack player if he gets too close, very powerful.
*Chimps - Jungle area - climb trees to get away from player, may throw dung or dirt blocks?
*Man Eating Plant - Jungle area - attacks with poison darts and tenticles - drops flowers,wood.
*Hippos - Swamp area - very powerful, very aggressive. Drops bones,meat,tusks.
*Giant Hawk - like Trainable Hawks but can be ridden, more powerful. Drops feathers, eggs.
I have many, many more ideas... I just don't want to overwhelm you. These are some of my favorates though. Thanks for reading.
Hey, thanks for the input. I'm pretty sure I've gotten those ones. Except I made the Roc (Giant Hawk) rideable? I appreciate the effort to not only give more suggestions but also be so organized. As you can tell, to add all the suggestions, but keep it from being overwhelming to readers, I've had to keep the descriptions quite brief. However, everyone posting on this thread is welcome to go into as much detail as the care to in order to flesh out their ideas. This is afterall OUR thread, and we are all lifting up the great mod Dr Zhark made as well as being a think-tank for future development.
***Time for a brand new poll, the results of the last one are posted just after the OP. Thanks to everyone who participated!!! There was such a terrific response!
Its a creature that lives under Ice and when you walk over ice it like shoots up the ice in the air throwing you up too maybe it could work like the tornado mod but for a very small area under you.
Yup, I already looked at that link and got it on the Mythical creatures list. I went through the suggestions that have been made the last few days and added them right before I made the new poll questions.
What about stone animal golems? They would act like normal animals, but rarely move, and attack you when near ogres.
Oh, yeah, because Ogres aren't annoying enough yet! Haha j/k Well, the list has gargoyles, I think they would be an awesome idea. Turn to stone during the day and you can't break the stone unless you surround it with snow blocks, then it has the same durability as obsidian.
Yesterday i tried to install that mod (the best, i think) in MC 1.2.4, but I had a problem. The modloader and audomod wasn´t updated.
I coud install it, because in google i found the right version, but i didn´t thought that a page which contents a mod coud has that problem.
How about a mimic? Looks like a chest and spawns in dungeons and fortresses. When activated (left or right click) it attacks the player. For all intents and purposes, it would behave almost exactly like a normal block until 'activated'.
While the following aren't 'mob' suggestions, this thread was the most suitable place I could find to post them (The orignal Mo' Creatures thread being more a swarm of 'Help! It doesn't work!' posts.)
I would like to see more options for vanilla mobs, such as:
Endermen move blocks: (Yes/No) This is the option I hope for the most
Creeper damage: adjust how much damage creeper explosions do to entities.
Creeper power: adjust the 'explosive' strength of creepers (vs. blocks) Setting to zero would effectively make creepers unable to damage blocks (although they may still damage entities.)
Spawn Creeper in: (Easy/Medium/Hard)
I'd like the 'Easy Horse Breeding' option to be separated into two separate options:
Horse fertility - Horses become sterile after 'X' breeds (1-20/Never)
Easy breeding - Horses always produce ideal offspring. (Yes/No)
I feel that the Ogre's ability to see through 10-or-so layers of wall/floor is a bit overpowered. I can turn down thier range, but then I'm able to practically walk right up to them without any problems. I believe thier ability to detect through walls should be a seperate adjustable setting. (You could for example, have them able to detect you through walls if you are within 3 blocks distance of them, but have them able to detect you from 15 blocks away via normal detection methods (LoS). I'm not sure if the Ogre's 'Strength' setting affects the 'destructive' radius/power of it's attacks, or just the amount of damage it does to entities, but I'd like to be able to shrink the destructive radius of Ogre attacks, while increasing the damage output to entities.
When adjusting the spawn frequencies of mobs, it would be nice for '0' to be replaced with 'Off' or 'None' (I'm assuming that setting a creature's spawn Freq to 0 is supposed to stop them from spawning. If so, it isn't working for me (atleast with endermen), and if it isn't so, I believe this feature should be added)
I would also like the numerical options (the ones that adjust spawn frequency , for example) to no longer accept the mousewheel as input. As I'm trying to use the mousewheel to scroll the page up/down, settings are being changed as my mouse cursor passes over them.
Some tooltips for the settings buttons would also be a good addtition. A few of the buttons setting that I feel could use some in-game clarification:
Spawn Limits -> 'Old World?'
Water Mobs -> 'Aggresive Dolphins?'
Vanilla Mobs -> 'Despawn vanilla mobs?'
Vanilla Mobs -> 'Change vanilla spawns?'
Animals -> 'Easy Horse Breed'
Hostile Mobs -> 'Ogre Strength'
Hostile Mobs -> 'Ogre Range'
Other Settings -> Show Pet Icons?'
Other Settings -> 'Static K.Bed?'
Other Settings -> 'Static Litter?'
I'd also like the ability to accelerate the descent of my flying mount, and remap the horse controls (dismount and descend) seperate from the standard controls. I would use shift for descent, and alt for dismount. Those controls just feel natural to me (I can't tell you how many times I've pressed crouch (which to me, is almost synonymous with down/descend) while riding a pegasus, trying to fly down faster. I'll tell you one thing, I DID descend VERY quickly, hehe)
Is there any way that this mod could NOT use custom spawner?
I love setting up my village with abundant animals- and when I realized they were despawning I flipped my table over.
Not to mention now ocelots can spawn EVERYWHERE, meaning I simply cannot own chickens. Because I'll fence them in AND Ocelots will just spawn inside my fences. I swear, if I put a fenced-in area down, I'll come back and find an Ocelot and 3 baby ocelots, and 20 chicken carcasses laying about.
I'm about fed up. =/ I hate the custom spawner mod, simply because I think the removal of despawning was one of the best edits ever made for Minecraft.
EDIT:
Everything despawns. I can't have farms. I can't have villagers.
1. I don't want to play without this mod. I love all the animals.
2. I don't want to play with this mod. It despawns everything I've worked hard for.
so really, suggestions like that belong in the actual mod's thread ....
I disagree. The problem with posting general suggestions in the mod thread (as opposed to the mob suggestion thread) is that within a matter of minutes, posts are quickly and easily buried by "Help! It's not working!" and "When are you going to update?" posts. As far as official suggestion threads, this is the closest thing we've got. The original mod thread appears to be more of a tech support thread.
Allow me to quote a small section from Mythra's original post:
~Feel free to post mod suggestions here on this topic.
~Be Polite - If you can't be respectful of other members, at least be courteous.
~Think Before you Post - Sensible, well-thought-out posts in the right section are easier to understand.
So please, do not pounce on somebody for posting a general suggestion here. This mod may be about adding more creatures, but that is not it's only feature. More features could be added, and the features already added could be improved. Without feedback, it is hard to know where adjustments should be made. General suggestions can go a long way towards making a more well-adjusted full-featured mod.
In short: if any of you have a good idea that isn't strictly 'add a new X mob', but fits in within the spirit of what Mo' Creatures is, you should share it with us! Don't be discouraged by the comments like the one above.
In reply to Cailism: I believe we're using different versions (My Mo' Creatures is provided via the Technic Pack, and the Minecraft version is 1.1) so yours is likely to be different, but in my version there is a togglable setting under 'Options -> Global Mod Settings -> DrZhark's Mo'Creatures -> Vanilla Mobs' called 'Despawn vanilla mobs'. Try looking for that setting and turning it off. I hope that helps!
Not sure what to say about the ocelots though. They're only supposed to spawn in the jungle, right? But they're spawning everywhere? Sounds like that needs to be fixed.
I love comodo dragon and I think in the new version mo creatures may apper, it is
It's Komodo you know. I think the Komodo Dragon would be an interesting creature! It seems that it will be the only jungle creature. (Other than the Original Cows, Sheep, etc.) Can't wait to see what it looks like!

I would love for it to spawn in swamp biomes because of the lily pads they can hop on it and hop on another lily pad
And they would have ribbit kinda sounds :3

Any particular reason you felt the need to burn everyone's eyes out with excessive exclamation points and capitals? Or unwarranted rudeness?
All that was needed was a calm and polite comment. I thought this was for suggestions, not just mobs.
Yeah, I hadn't figured that out by now.
