The first thing you do is stop relying on a program like MCreator, and learn how to program on your own. You're not going to make anything interesting or innovative when being limited to what the program has been designed to auto-generate for you.

ill do that when im not a lazy ars :I
in all seriousness:
i will, but im just trying it out for first mod,
and one other thing. you dont need to help me with the armor part.
how would you program a new type of grass block?

Mcreator is awesome. I am currently working on a mod with it and have alredy made a working mod.

MCreator is the bane of every reasonable, hardworking programmer's existence. It's an application devised to inherently make the Forums an even more Clone-filled mess than it already is. Ingenuity cannot occur when the fate of a mod is already predisposed to failure by an application's limitations.

in many ways i agree, though i use MCreator to make personal mods, i like it, but dont like it,
its buggy, sometimes doesnt work,
fast, easy to use,

Maybe you should play with the events a bit. You may be able to get something working with those.

No. this program was designed to give those who either don't have the time, understanding, luck, or motivation to learn how to mod. It is great for people who don't know how to code, are learning to code but don't know enough, or want a program to help them. Just because you may be able to learn enough programming to make mods, doesn't mean everyone wants to.

You, sir, are not smart. This is a useful tool even for good programmers as you can edit the code directly as well as generating it, so you can make up quick base classes and then expand off of them to give them more features.

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.
May someone please tell me what the Block2 Render Type is? because I'm trying to create a mini-golf mod...Using MCreator...and I thought it might be a render where I can make non-glitchy slabs...

Learning programming isn't hard, I learned Basic Java in a week just by reading some Java books about an Hour a Day. If you are too lazy to learn programming, than you shouldn't be trying to make mods

I disagree. I'm trying to make my own Mini Golf mod and I'm just trying to figure out how to get a custom texture (like not from the default textures they give you to choose from.) Anyone know of any good texture makers compatible with MCreator?

From the output code I have seen from the program I wouldn't say that it's useful for any programmer
Besides for the questions asked here about learning programming: http://courses.vswe.se Is a good place to start if you just want to learn the basics and get a nice intro to minecraft modding
I suggest this route if you want to get into modding quickly.
If you want to get into programming, then stanford university has some excelent courses in Java and programming methodology called CS106A, CS106B and CS107 which are fully available online for free

Well, thats your opinion. I use it and have no trouble. I'm starting to learn computer programming. just a rly easy way.
but... its unlike any programming program uve ever seen. Go to Scratch.mit.edu and click Create and follow the beginner's steps thing or something like that. EASIEST...PROGRAMMING...EVAR...
EDIT: I'm also starting to learn Batch
RE-EDIT: I'm trying to code a custom launcher that launches all my bought games and some of my programmed games. how do I get my .BAT files to run and also get Minecraft to run from that batch file?
hehe scratch is a funny project for learning kids to like programming, I love the initiative it may get a few kids to study programming when they become older

If that's so, then what is the ability to create custom code doing in the event editor for blocks and entities?

I'm on both sides of the fence with MCreator, it's good for people who don't want to / can't learn how to code, but it's bad for the fact that it really makes that person look, and at times, act, like a lazy developer. I don't see the problem if someone wants to use it to make a private mod, or perhaps kickstart their modding career, but I see a problem when they release a mod they made in MCreator in public, people flame them, then they're confused on why they're being flamed.
The community is really big on the concept of modding should be something which one puts effort into, if you give people the ability to make a mod with a few clicks and types, instead of typing the entire thing out themselves, the community will more than likely yell back saying the developer should stop using MCreator.
As I said, I don't think MCreator needs to go completely, but it definitely needs to be regulated, both for the communities benefit and the developer's benefit and safety (I'm pretty sure the harsh comments don't land well on the developer). You won't see me yelling things like MCreator is the bane of modder's, etc, but you will see me suggesting the developer moves away from MCreator, for various reasons, most of which have already been mentioned in this thread.
Also, about the limitations, at some point the developer will have to load Eclipse up. MCreator, while what I have seen, and heard, tells me it is alright when it comes to how dynamic it works with the user, allowing them to do things, is still limited. It's a program that is designed to remove the manual labour from programming, these sorts of programs will always have limitations, and when the user hits a wall built by the program they use, they will try to look for way's around it, in terms of MCreator, the only ways around are either to deal with it, or delve into the code and do it manually. If the latter is chosen, the user most likely won't know how to code, so they'll ask here, and because of the amount of technically-minded people here, the user won't understand some words / instructions, which will cause stress for the person trying to help which leads to a potential argument.

Help! I have a problem with my mod. I made a corn plant that grows up to 12 blocks, and it turned itself into the grass texture somehow. Now, all the grass displays itself as corn. (the game says corn is id 176).
Edit: I found out why. I used the nova skin editor on tall grass to give me a preview of the corn. The file I got was tallgrass.png, and the grass thought what was it's texture.

Your batch questions is probably better answered in other places on the internett, as this forum is not for support in creating batch files
A quick google search gave me this:
