Hello everyone, I am a first-time modder! At the time, I have successfully made a block with a certain recipe, and I would like ideas for my mod. Once the mod is far enough developed, I will release it! So far, I have a Wheat Bundle that acts like a better storage method for wheat. I need some help in doing this mod, mostly because I would like the bundle to be gravity-affected and flammable. So, for this topic, it will be entirely devoted to coding help and ideas!
To-do list:
Finished Bundle of Wheat (add flammablility, gravity, possibly make a training golem)
Add explosive ore, will drop gunpowder
Add the Melon of Gluttony (Extremely expensive food that has super-high saturation)
It isn't direct help with code, so no, it doesn't belong in Mod Development.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
“Computers are incredibly fast, accurate and stupid; humans are incredibly slow, inaccurate and brilliant; together they are powerful beyond imagination."
Well, this is both. At the moment, I need help more than ideas. Can you give me a code example for flammable blocks? When I used setBurnProperties it says it is private.

Those are really good tutorials! By chance, can you give me an example of how to give a block (my wheat bundle) flammability with its own Burn properties? I would prefer not to turn the material to cloth.
Since I have something special planned for a Flint Block, I decided to make a Coal Block. It's not very original, but hey. It is my first mod, and I have the feeling I will be making many more of these "Blocks" in the future. I am having one error, though, and it is when I try to make it smelt one stack of items. I will show you the code.
blockCoal.class:
package net.minecraft.src;
public class blockCoal extends Block
{
public blockCoal(int i, int j)
{
super(i, j, Material.rock);
}
}
Excerpt from mod_SuperStorage.class:
public int addFuel(int i, int j)
{
if (i == bundleWheat.blockID)
return 6400;
return 0;
if (i == blockCoal.blockID)
return 12800;
return 0;
}
The "if (i == blockCoal.blockID)" line is giving me an error, saying "unreachable statement." I have already tried adding more brackets in there to separate the smelting items. Any help?
Okay, the only things I need now:
A tutorial on how to make gravity-affected blocks
A tutorial on how to make flowers and ores generate
A tutorial on how to make a mob spawn by making a certain structure (golems)
I had a major derp, how do you set light level? Also, can someone give me an example of how to make blocks hurt players. And, if possible, light them on fire.
No offense but you dont seem willing to dig around for code or even google search for help. It seems like your more here to let people write the code for you so you can copy and paste...
Actually, I never copy/paste. I do modding tutorials all the time. Anyways, I have started on a new mod, this one will have less to do with just random stuff. I am going to call it Candy High, and once it is done it will have a full portal to another dimension where everything is candy. So far I have Chocolate Blocks (For stone and portal) and Waffle Blocks (In place of dirt). I also have Chocolate Bars, which are necessary to make Chocolate Blocks, and can be eaten, and individual waffles which can be used to make Waffle Blocks. Of course, these can also be eaten.
So, for Candy High I am going to need a texture artist while I work on code. Can anyone help? If so, please tell me what textures you have worked on before and a way I can contact you via e-mail.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

But yes, this is the wrong forum for this topic. Mod ideas are not related to code help.
