TCR Classic Reborn is a recreation of one of the most played modpacks of all time Tekkit Classic. TCR Classic Reborn is a near perfect recreation of Tekkit classic down to as much depth as we could possibly go to give you that nostalgic feel while also bringing new features of updated mods that we hope you enjoy!
Note - There's two versions, lite and normal. Lite is better designed for laptops and will run better and on 1GB, rather the normal version has more features, but requires at least 1.5GB ram. If you want to use the lite version, select latest, if you want to use the normal one, select recommended. Both versions will connect to servers and will load the same worlds.
Open the Technic Launcher
Click the Modpacks tab
Copy the following code and paste it into the search bar on the left of the launcher
Click on the TCR Classic Reborn pack that shows up
Click on the play button in the bottom right corner and the game will install
Once installation is finished click on play again to.. well.. Play!
To create a server, simply go to http://technicpack.net/modpack/tcr-classic-reborn.674727, click the download server button, and you're done. Everything in there is enough to run a basic forge server. To run a cauldron server though, that requires alot more, and I will be writing a guide explaining the process at some point.
Please report any bugs on our official forums so we're able to keep track of them, including the process needed to replicate it.
Thank you 3McC for re-sizing my 128x patch to 64x and 32x
This video is slightly outdated but the links you need are above and the actual installation process is the same
If you game doesn't start after installing a texture pack, please read below
To adjust the amount of RAM allocated to the game go to the launcher settings (not the modpack settings) and adjust the amount of RAM. Never use all of your RAM you should leave at least 2gb of RAM to your computer to use on other processes.
You should expect long load times and for minecraft to go unresponsive for a short period of time when loading the game with large resource packs.
Resource pack sizes/RAM amount allocated:
This is just a general rule of thumb and you may get different results
32x Textures = 2GB RAM
64x Textures = 3GB RAM
128x Textures = 4GB RAM+
Youtubers and Steamers
We fully support and encourage both youtubers and streamers to create content using our modpack. While we don't have a proper system in place yet to display videos, if you give me a link, I will be more than happy to add it here for now.
The lite client will be added, and will be under a version number now instead. So for example, 1.3.5d will be recommended, but on the version list, 1.3.5d-lite will be listed. This is so I'm not managing two seperate packs. Expect the lite version to be added shortly.
BTW - I had server on 1.3.4 version and it was working well with 1.3.4 LITE Client, now I don´t really know how to properly update server. When I upload new server files and upload old world files, its not working. I also can´t play on my old server with a new client, due to mod mismatch. Is there a way to 1. Update server with having the same world or 2. downloading older version of the client? 1.3.4 in my case.
Thank you, you are doing a really great job, keep it up.
A mod mismatch means you didn't update one of the mods properly. Just update the client to the latest, download the 1.3.5 server one, copy the config and mods folder over on your server, as well as the forge jar supplied if it's a different version, and it should be good to go. The world would be fine with the update.
Thanks for the answer, I can happily tell you that 1.3.5e-lite works fine with out server now. BUT 1.3.5e (non-lite) doesn't work. Still getting the "Fatally missing blocks and items" - error. Here's the pastebin http://pastebin.com/vigZbzss
what's the main difference between lite and non-lite?
Ya'll are THE man, Tencau. I'm likin the packs. I'm still runin 1.3.0 on the TCR and 1.3.5 on TCR-lite. I missed the 'disappearing' mod-pack. I played TCR all weekend with no issues. Must be the servers in the colonies are 'beefier' than the ones 'Over-there'
One request for the TCR-lite: How do I enable the 'cave-mapping' function of Voxelmap? It's greyed out in the map menu, the config button's greyed out under the 'mods' tab; and I can't find a config file for it anywhaere in the TCR-Lite folder.
I'll probably update the TCR pack after the texture pack gets updated. Or I can figure out how to create art
Excellent work from you all! I throw diamonds in your direction!:DORE:
Edit: I'm playin an SSP. Maybe the issues only affect SMP?
Well sturmwolf, the minimap was swapped out for something else on the lite pack, since the voxel one was causing weird crash issues in certain setups. The new one auto has a cave map option. Make sure you update and use the new one, the provide feedback here if you feel it can be improved in anyway
Pls make something with BungeeCord on official server. When I want to play and join I have error: "If u want use ip forwarding, ples eneble it on BungeeCore", but i dont use ip forwarding I really live in far country - Ukraine.
