Welcome to Tartheus, a dimension mod that takes place in a scorching land full of mystery.
I created this mod to be an expansion of what I liked about Minecraft, that being the mining and adventure aspect of it. As such, there are several new features of the dimension that endorse finding ores and going on searches for treasure and loot. Being an avid fan of mythical creatures and cryptids, most of the mod's creatures will be both of elusive creatures such as the sasquatch and chupacabra, or of course of normal medditerranean creatures that have undergone gigantism. (And of course, since this is Minecraft after all, I can have odd things such as crocodiles in this enviroment.)
This mod is currently in a beta / late alpha state. As such, most is unfinished such as the textures and inclusion of new creatures and food. If anybody wants to help me with this mod, just private message me on either https://www.curseforge.com or https://www.minecraftforum.net whenever you can. I'm just one person undertaking this big project after all.
Some of the features of this mod:
-Tartheus weapons have critical hits, weapon reach (Like spears), and the dimension's shields have a recharge to make combat more fun.
-The Tartheus dimension has a "Tartheus Protection" system that endorses obtaining higher-leveled tools. -The mobs of Tartheus have a "Danger Level" system that makes it so sometimes the spawn as a unique creature that are is tougher to deal with.
-A built-in stat indicator that tells the player the creature's health, armor, and attack damage -9 new weapon and tool tiers. -8 different biomes. -3 new creatures.
-2 new trees -The dimension has it's own music. -A soon to be fully-customizable config file.
As said, this mod is in BETA, so please be wary of large changes made that change around the mod. Although since this mod is completely contained within a dimension, not many errors are expected in persay, the Overworld.

This is in alpha so I can't say much about the mod just yet.. but my god the sounds on the lurker scared the crap out of me, so kudos for that.
About the rest of the mod, I like it so far, I think that there are too many weapons as of the mod's current state but I'm sure that won't be the case when the mod is near completion since it'll have much more content that the weapons won't seem as overwhelming. overall, job well done, I'll keep an eye out on this and see where it goes.
On a side note, I recall you working on a 1.12 version of your old mod Nature's revenge, is this the overhaul of said mod, a side project or did you abandon that mod's overhaul and started working on this one? I'm curious.

Glad you like the sounds! Made them by putting my own voice in Audacity and distorting it.
We can both agree that there are too many weapons at the moment. I had to make sure that each and every tier of ore had the standard mace, battleaxe, sword, dagger, and spear for consistency's sake. And to pile onto that, there will be unique weapons that are found as drops or treasure loot.
I am setting out to make this mod as grand as Twilight Forest, my all-time favorite mod since 2012, and a big inspiration for both Nature's Revenge and Tartheus.
I am delighted that you asked about Nature's Revenge and it's current status. The reason I wanted to overhaul it in the first place was because whenever I transferred the mod to a 1.10 workspace, I had a total of 2000+ javascript errors. I was about to give up modding entirely, but I decided to push for a huge overhaul / reprogramming of the mod. My first idea was to make a Nature's Revenge 2, which had some content from the old mod. As in, just a few bosses and creatures carried over.
Eventually though, I gave up on Nature's Revenge 2 because the project I was aiming for was too large scale for even a team of programmers. We're talking a complete overhaul of Minecraft itself. Though, I did start to realize I wanted a fresh start with things. So, after a while I eventually I lost all of the team that helped me develop Nature's Revenge- and that's when I came up with Tartheus.
It started out as a very bleak dimension, colored like blood with a eerie fog covering up the landscape. It was going to be a wasteland dimension with one biome (The Barren Wastes), and a bunch of creatures that were mutated freaks.
But then of course, as I went on with the development, it got more of an identity. I kept adding and removing different features entirely.
And now it's what it is now, and I am quite happy to be building up from here. I plan to perhaps add some ponds or giant lakes so I can have sea creatures, since those were voted for in the poll for Nature's Revenge. So yeah this is basically my main project now and a spiritual successor. : )
Lol thanks if you stayed through my boring history lesson of this project. It's been a rough development with this mod and I just wanted to share it publicly on the forums.
Version 0.1.1 fixes some minor but relatively important aesthetic things in my opinion, and adds in not only a beautiful desert sky, but a new Cut Sandstone set! Enjoy.
(P.S. The Door of the set actually has the Barrenwood Door texture as a placeholder. This was an important patch, so I'll be sure to give it a proper texture soon.)
Stairs Fix:
Before-
After-
[Full Changelog]
-Stairs model corrected
-Sky and ambient fog color changed
-Cut Sandstone set added [Stairs, Slab, and Door]
-Chat link fixed so now it redirects to the mod's forum page.

Ah, that's a shame, although I liked nature's revenge I can understand how hard it is to overhaul such a big mod especially with no one to help you out, but I've seen enough potential on this new mod to keep my interest, might even be willing to join a discord server and such to keep up with what's going on behind the curtains if that's a thing, and so I'll wait for a full release of the mod and keep an eye out. I wish you the best of luck with creating this mod pal.
And lol that little history lesson was fun to read through

I understand. It was hard for me to move on from it too. But as you see in-game, my talents have progressed so much farther. The textures and models look even more amazing in my opinion. More stylized and cohesive. And the programming, although you can't see it, is not just a copy-paste fest with me understanding what everything I make does. That means there will be far less errors.
Thank you! I am indeed setting up my Discord right now. The rules will be fairly lenient, since I don't want to be a hypocrite lol. I choose weird names and profile pics. xD
I'll post that in the thread as soon as it is ready. My favorite part of this is talking to my fans.
New update coming out rather soon. This is going to add localizations for everything in the mod (aka, the items and blocks won’t be called something like “item.chitin.name” anymore), and two new biomes I will be sure to show off.
Very important message for anybody who may or may not have stored valuables in Tartheus.
I have changed the IDs and names of the strata within Tartheus to fit moreso in the dimension.
Before you download update 0.1.3, (The update coming next, not the latest one) make sure you get all your valuable items and blocks out of Tartheus.
To dispose of a Tartheus save with missing IDs, go to the minecraft directory, go to the "saves" folder, and delete a folder called "DIM65" (This may vary depending on what you set the dimension ID to. Then reload the map and go into Tartheus.

Cool! I have stepped back from this game completely, but I do still look at other projects.

Keep your eye on this one. I have a lot of updates to do before it becomes a full release.
I have updated the original post with the Discord. Right under the download link if anybody is wondering. (And also in my Forum Signature. )
