Lol, remember when we used to publish releases that didn't require an immediate hotfix less than a week later? Good times.
Apparently 5.3.0's much-anticipated config was so hype that it crashed the server -- that's fixed in 5.3.1, along with a number of other minor bugs. Additionally, Lava Boats are fully functional now! Grab yourself some spooky Charwood from one of those spooky Nether trees and sail across the molten sea in style.
As always, the full changelog is on GitHub.
MOD OVERVIEW
Minestrappolation is a massive, standalone Vanilla overhaul designed to add a ton of content designed to keep the game more interesting, while still meshing well with the look and game feel of Vanilla Minecraft. The mod has been around since 2013, and what started out as another More-Ores mod has since developed into a ludicrous variety of content that now serves as a playable chronicle of my descent into madness.
Like the early-alpha build, this thread is also a work in progress - it's missing a lot of info on the mod, and probably won't be finalized for a while due to real-life time constraints. If you're not familiar with the mod, check out Minestrapp 4 - the most feature-complete version so far - here.
Does this mod work with Pam's Harvestcraft, apple core and apple skin, Nether Ex, and Biomes o' Plenty? I'd love to add it to my modpack for 1.12.2.
No idea! We actually haven't had a chance to test the pre-alpha with any other mods yet, so your best bet is always to just load them all up and create a test world to see if anything seems broken.
I can't think of anything currently implemented that would conflict with any of those mods in any notable way, though, so my guess is it should work fine. The only real concern Minestrapp has in terms of mod conflicts is ore generation - depending on what order the other mods perform their generation steps, Minestrapp can sometimes generate its custom stone types before other mods have generated their ores, thus causing ores from other mods to be limited to biomes like Forests or Plains where Vanilla Stone still generates. We'll be working on some config option to delay Minestrapp's stone gen eventually, but for now the best option is to just make a test world with all desired mods installed and see if there are any issues.
On a side note, if you're planning on publicly releasing the modpack at any point, be sure to hit me up with a link! I'd be happy to link any Minestrapp modpacks anyone's created in the OP.
It still in the process of being made, probably complete around the end of this month however, I posted this on your curse forge page but I'm not sure how active you are on there so:
Thanks for the update! Is their anyway to disable the vanilla texture changes, I have my own resource pack and it's overriding it... ?

Couldn't find a config to change anything.
Thanks,
Dan
Whoops, sorry about that - I've got to get better about checking the Curseforge, lol.
Anyway, yeah, that was a problem with M4 as well that I never had a chance to find a good solution for before that mod died. My plan is to add a config option for it, but seeing as I haven't added the config yet, that could be a little while...
In the meantime, you can always remove the textures manually if you want. Open up the Minestrapp jar file using Winrar/7Zip/whatever Apple uses and go to the assets folder - deleting the "minecraft" folder inside that will remove all the Vanilla texture overrides from the mod. It's not optimal, but it's the simplest method at the moment until I get the config worked out. I'll add an issue on GitHub though to make sure it gets fixed!
Man I really missed this mod, it feels so good to incorporate this mod in my personal modpack. You did a great job updating this mod to 1.12!!! It would be really nice if this community would have a discord server to join on. It makes announcements, previews and etc.. a lot more easier to post on.
Btw is it possible to destroy glacial invincium? Its dotted all around the map and cannot be removed. It really sucks when building. Maybe you should make a config to enable harvest with titanium pick only?
Thanks! And nice suggestion - I actually just set one up! There are threads on there for feature suggestions, bug reports, or generally any other Minestrappolatey things, so if anyone else is interested in using that, you can find our official server here - I'll post the link in the OP as well when I update it later this weekend.
As far as Glacial Invincium goes, there's not currently any way to destroy it, and that's intentional - Glacieric Ice Deposits were designed to be stationary resources that act as sort of a draw to give you a reason to set up a remote base near them. I might consider adding a Config option for making it minable, but I'll have to think through how that would affect the Glacieric Ice Deposits - if you can mine those too, it'd defeat the point of having them function the way they do, and if you can't mine the deposits but can mine the Glacial Invincium, then you'd end up with a bunch of floating, irremovable Ice Deposits, which would probably be worse. I'll think it through and see if I can find a good middleground solution for that once we get the config set up and re-added.
Wellp, Curse's whole Twitch Account merge thing seems to think my personal Twitch is linked to the MinestrappDev account and keeps blocking me out, so until I can edit the OP, here's the most recent content update.
It's a little over half an hour late, but Minestrapp 5.1.0A is out! The second-half of the Spoopy Update is a little content-light due to time constraints, but it fixes some major bugs, and add some fancy new decor blocks, so check that out here!
I've been playing this mod for a while. I've found that the recipes in this mod doesn't oredictionary very well. Is it possible if you can "fix it"? I don't know much about this mod or modding in general so apologies if this doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, sorry about that - that's a known issue. I started to add some OreDict support prior to the first release, but I haven't gotten around to fixing everything that should be OreDict compatible. We'll try and have that fixed for one of the upcoming releases, but in the meantime, if you let me know what specific recipes you want better OreDict support for, I can make sure we get those fixed for the next update.
What do you do with the Soulsteel Vessel after it's full?
At the moment? Nothing. It's a WIP feature, but we're planning on making it actually functional in the next update. Its initial uses will be things like storing health or creating those creepy animal blocks from M4, but eventually I've also got plans for some really crazy blood-magic type stuff that'll open up a bunch of late game tech options - so if you managed to obtain one in Survival (in which case, congrats - getting that Skeleton Skull is no small feat) just hold on to it for now - you'll want to make sure you have it for the next few updates.
Still can't edit the OP due to a Curse-Twitch account merging bug, but Minestrapp 5.2.0 is out! The new update contains everything from Biome-Specific Redstone, to Magnet Pistons (courtesy of CrazySnailBoy), to a total rework of all the mod's stone decoration block textures. Check out the full changelog and download the new version here: https://github.com/MinestrapTeam/Minestrapp-1.12/releases/tag/v5.2.0-Alpha
Also, if you haven't checked out our Discord already, join us at http://discord.gg/WPEyrCZ to ask any questions you might have about the update, or to share any builds or clever Redstone contraptions you've come up with in the new release!
Does anyone use Minecraft Forum any more? I'm really unsure at this point. Anyway, it's been like 5 months, but Minestrapp's biggest update ever is finally out! 5.3.0 has been released, containing everything from a total overhaul of the End to boatloads of bugfixes. Plus, I finally got the Twitch migration issue fixed with the MinestrappDev account, so the OP has finally been updated! And now that I have time to actually do things for once, I'm planning on dusting off the Wiki and maybe making it halfway usable over the next few weeks! It's a veritable Renaisstrappolation!
Check out the full 5.3.0 Changelog and download the update on our github, linked in the OP.
...aaaaand we broke it. Hotfix 5.3.1 is out to fix a server crash and some other stuff! Download it now using the (finally) up-to-date download link in the OP!

Are there more features planned for the full release? I can't help but notice that there's many things that can't be used in recipes at all (example: tech doodads) and things that seem just a tad unfinished.

Here we go!
I can finally play a post 1.7.10 Minestrap with a bunch of other cool mods now
There are three kinds of people in this world, ones who pay attention and ones who don't.

I got an issue with the mod. Is not a crash, rather a bug. I already tested it.[/p]
Whenever I don’t use the mod, I don’t get the “X-RAY” bug.[/p]
I will also share the list of mods that I use:[/p]
