No 1.9 doesn't work it's hit somebody 1 time wait 3 seconds hit them again doesn't matter how skilled you are if you have worse weapon or armor you will die. Very stupid system. They did have a cooldown in 1.8 that was perfect it limited to about 10 clicks per second or something like that but, would glitch if you had auto clicker and would do 40 clicks a second with the damage of 20 at least on dedicated server.

That's exactly what i mean by being happy for this change as it is keeping the 12 y/o away from pvp unless they actually get good at it. Also armor and gear is as important as ever, so i'm not really sure what you mean by that.
Removing the spamclick means that no longer the one that lands the first hit automatically wins (as it was in the past), now you have to actually consider your timing and distance to your opponent so as not to leave yurself open for a counterattack. I remember this being especially problematic with the old system for people that had a bad internet connection, as they couldn't respond fast enough to an attack and usually get themselves killed instantly.
the only game I am away of crazy cooldowns were zelda and they had reasonable cooldowns and made up for it in damage. Minecraft doesn't make up for it in damage, minecraft has too long of a cooldown, the animation is pure sh***. Cooldowns are not meant to be in minecraft at least in vanilla. Cooldowns runed the game play you can no longer kill more then 3 mobs at a time if you get in a swarm, pvp is completely ruined you try to play cubecraft? it's hit and run because, you cannot just swing more then one time. Have you seen the mod better sword skills perfectly good cooldowns there I was fine with that but, not the crap that they introduced ruining the game I am suprised any servers with pvp are up past 1.9. Any further comments on the cooldowns will be marked as spam. this is no cubes and if you like that piece of sh*** crap then go play some pvp compared to all other games

Why so much effort for 1.12.2 when 1.13 is coming pretty soon?
I mean, why to do something past 1.7.10 at all, there always be a new version that will break the older one and it's a continue re-coding without any room left for improvements :/
1.12.2 needs manual work and 1.13 is very little difference with the exception of if your code has manual saving for nbt chunks or you have a custom chunk system for your world, or you added commands those might have to be updated.
I like your idea of doing nothing more then 1.7.10 but, I am going to be working on a mod soon that will make 1.12x look and feel like 1.6.4. It's going to be called EvilNotchCore. The Apis were broken I had to re-write alot of them but, I am going to get back to working on it realitivley soon. It will also format the biomes caves to < 1.7 with option to disable it.
1.12.2 = forge help < 1.10.2 = no forge help so I can always simply backport not too hard to do unless it's raw content like blocks/items, worlds dimensions, worldgen,biomes

No not properly at least it says it removes it but, the damage doesn't stay the same when hitting an entity and the items still have the same damage overpowered values with axes stuff like that even though the parameter calls are the same as < 1.9 for the ints you send in. The only thing it did was remove the cooldowns. I am going to make a mod that fixes that the biome 1.7 format revert it to 1.6.4 format , bonemeal, notch apples, make advancements more like achievements etc...

Hey guys I don't like those kind of discussions on this thread, since we created a new thread for these mods (noCubes Reloaded and noCubes) to avoid flood. Your "EvilNotchCore" project already exist, it is created by jredfox, but it's 1.7.10 (what makes no sense, as 1.7.10 already feels like 1.6.4). Also, you still play on MC 1.6.4?

read. vreckfall is close to 1.12 and the patched version is for 1.7.10 with configurations and blacklists

We also need option to disable deformation, when placing blocks, like pushbutton or something.
