Can you tame the incredible Crocoduck?
Welcome to Crocoducks, the first and only mod to add the amazing creature, the Crocoduck.
What is it?
Crocoducks are a hybrid between a crocodile and a duck. They don't hiss or quack, they hack, and are bloodthirsty pack hunters, killing and eating anything that they can get their jaws around, from spiders to sheep, to villagers and players.
What do they do?
Being avid pack hunters, Crocoducks make great hunting utilities. When leashed together and trained not to attack their masters, Crocoducks will enter hot pursuit with any warm blooded animal with red meat, with the exception of chickens.
How do I train my Crocoduck?
To train your Crocoduck, you will need one when they are young. They can be bred by feeding two adults raw meat, but your first time doing this might make you lose a couple fingers in the process, so a safer alternative would be hatching a Crocoduck egg.
Alright, how do I get an egg?
Crocoducks lay an egg up to once or twice a day, consider leashing them or having them chase you into a fence, or getting a cat because, like chickens, ocelots will attack Crocoducks, causing them to scatter in fear. Any eggs on the ground would be fair game to obtain at that point.
How to train your Crocoduck:
Once you have your Crocoduckling, feed it raw meat and it will follow you and love you forever. When they are young, Crocoducklings will not attack anything and must be kept well sheltered for they face the risk of getting eaten by ocelots.
After about a day, your Crocoduckling will be a fully grown Crocoduck, and it will follow you with an inquisitive quack, I mean hack, all nearby animals such as sheep, horses, cows, chickens, and pigs stand no chance against the power of the mighty Crocoduck, keep all horse mounts and farm animals out of the reach of Crocoducks and use leads when necessary. Failure to do so will result in a swift and bloody death to your animals, except chickens, because chickens don't have giant crocodile heads weighing them down, causing them to run significantly faster.
Consider using your Crocoducks for entertainment by building stadiums with plenty of chickens, you'll understand when you finish.
What else do I need to know?
Nothing! Report all bugs to this thread, and please consider donating to my PayPal so I can make more mods. I also develop the KAGIC mod, which I would really appreciate some more reviews as I worked very hard on that.
Can crocoduck eggs be used in place of normal chicken eggs for recipe purposes? I'm not sure if it's normally possible to make it interchangeable for the purposes of mod recipes, but letting players bake cakes/pies with crocoduck eggs would be a nice use for them, once you've built your personal crocoduck pack to a reasonable size
Something less QoL-y: Would it be possible to add some kind of item (Maybe made from crocoduck eggs, for thematic purposes) that keeps your/wild crocoducklings from growing up? Maybe i'm alone in this, but it'd be nice to keep some permanent crocoducklings around for aesthetic purposes

I don't plan on making crocoduck eggs replace normal eggs in recipes simply because of how rare they are to obtain (and in current versions the crocoduck egg gives a 1/8 chance of dropping a crocoduck... but not for long!)
As far as preventing your crocoducks from growing up, that'd be easy to implement and something I wouldn't mind doing. Expect a new update to come out next weekend.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean literally replacing chicken eggs in recipies, I just meant that it'd be nice to have the option of using crocoduck eggs to bake cakes or pie as well as the option to use normal eggs, just so that there's a use for them beyond making more crocoducks (A use that theoretically has a point where you go "Ok, i have enough and now these eggs are just taking up space")
I don't mean to try to lobby you into doing it, I just realize now that I didn't explain what I meant very well

No, that was a bad explanation on my part, that's what I meant, adding them as an option. Since the new update is going to add a special crocoduck meat, I will probably make crocoduck eggs a food source, considering cooked eggs aren't apparent in Minecraft.

A definitive answer would be no, a complicated answer would be, if I can muster up the time between now and nowruz, yes.
Sorry to disappoint, but my schedule has been crowded and a lot of my updates have been done on the clock.

You, my friend, are a genius. Definitely going to use this mod.
I'm TheVisionaryOne, but I lost my password to my old account, and don't remember the email I signed up with, so I had to make a new account...
Crocoducks v1.1 has been released.
An update was pushed for Minecraft 1.11 fixing a language error, download it here.
I'm thinking about making this mod open source so that people can learn from example how to add their own mobs and items to the game.
I really like this mod, and I think you should be very proud for making an interesting new mob that seems like it would fit within minecraft.
If you like threads about mobs, then my threads are mainly about that: http://www.minecraftforum.net/members/AGmantheAG/threads
Can u please make this mod compatible with 1.8.9? I would rlly love to download this mod but need it to be MC version 1.8.9

Will the latest 1.11 build of this mod work with 1.11.2?
yes
