This is a liteloader mod for minecraft 1.8.9 and up based heavily on Urushibara's Pop Enchant Mod. It is designed to add enchantment names to the display of an item's name when you change the current held item. This mod requires LiteLoader 1.8.9 or higher to run. Download it here.
Unlike the original, it is unavailable in any other form than a litemod, as this is the first true mod I've made and am unfamiliar with any modding system other than the new gradle development system that began with liteloader 1.8.9.
As of the 1.1 release, I've added new features that significantly change the mod from the simple bit of code contained in the original. For full details, see the changelog below.
--Version 1.1.1
-fixed an issue for all versions of minecraft where multi-line overlapped with the held item tooltips
--Version 1.1
-added support for enchanted books
-added multi-line support for long enchant lists, which expand up to four lines total depending on screen resizing and length
-added config panel
-added ability to toggle item and book enchants independently of one another
-added keybinds for the two aforementioned toggles, unset by default
-settings are saved when you change them, and reloaded when the game starts; the settings file is unversioned, so your preferences will sync between all different versions of minecraft which are running version 1.1 of the mod or newer
-Added a mod description in-game
-Reorganized the code and internal structure of the mod to make it compatible with an as of yet unnamed and unannounced project of mine that I'll refer to only as "the plan"
-Added support for 1.8.9 as well as syncing the mod to all subsequent versions of minecraft for the 1.1 release
Version 1.0.3
-Updated to 1.10; no revision for earlier versions released, though I did end up releasing a second version of 1.0.3 not too long after it was initially released to support the multiversion compatibility between 1.10 and 1.10.2
Version 1.0.2
-Updated to 1.9.4; no revision for 1.9 or 1.8.9 version released, as no functionality was changed
Version 1.0.1
-Fixed side by side compatibility with Armors HUD Revived
Version 1.0.0
-Initial port from 1.8 to 1.9 (skipped 1.8.9 because it was unstable at the time)
Alternatively, the prior versions for 1.7.10 and 1.8 can be found on Urushibara's original post here.

Didn't think there was a Liteloader for 1.9........ doesn't seem to be on their website :U
it's kind of tricky to get to, but it's there. On the download links page, you're gonna want to click the link for Development Builds, That'll take you to the liteloader jenkins page. Then near the top where it says "Jenkins > LiteLoader 1.8 >" click the arrow to the left of 1.8 and it'll bring up a dropdown menu containing 1.8.9 and 1.9 pages as well.
Edit: Well, it seems you can get to it from the main download page here now

any news on a update for this plugin? i like the mods you make.
As I've mentioned on the armors hud page, I've got my coding laptop with me while I visit family for the summer, but finding time to work on this is a bit of a challenge. I've been working on the update ever since I heard 1.9.4 was released, so it should be out soon.

o I've been having this problem for a bit of time now, but on the hotbar, the first enchanted item on the hotbar is always like this, the entire box glows. If there is an un-enchanted item before the item, then it stops, as shown below this picture.

This mod doesn't touch the appearance of anything in the hotbar or your inventory, just adds text above them stating the enchants. I feel like this problem is more caused by whatever mod you're using to make the hotbar itself look different.

I tried turning the resource pack off and it still did it. I also tried it with no mods except forge and the mod itself, and can't seem to get it to not have this problem. I don't know, though. I appreciate the fast reply. Thanks =D
This is a super helpful mod. Any chance to get a separator character between multiple enchants? Like a comma?
That's actually a pretty good idea, though I'm thinking more like "Protection IV - Unbreaking III - Mending I"

Hi, it seems to crash for me when I hold a specific item on Mineplex. The new titles book cosmetic in the hotbar on Mineplex causes me to crash using your mod. Do you want me to send you logs?

If it's a cosmetic thing that changes the same stuff that my mod edits, then they'd likely be incompatible. Logs would be extremely helpful, but make sure to put it in a spoiler so as to not spam the thread.

Could you tell me more about this item? What enchants it had, whether you had any other mods installed that would change how it behaves, etc? Does it crash consistently with that one item? Does it happen on any other version other than 1.8.9 with that same item?

Not sure if it happens with other versions but it's consistent with this items. The enchants are illustrated below on the photo and I disabled all other mods and it still occurs.
I have a crasher bug involving https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/beloved-blocks. These are blocks not available in Creative, but "can" exist in Minecraft. In order to have them in your inventory, the server shows them as "enchanted" blocks such as for "smooth bark", all bark logs, or "smooth double-stone slab", a full block of "double stone slab" without the crease in the middle.
When I have pop-up enchants *and* the "beloved block" in my inventory, I get a "null pointer" error, but it doesn't even get to the point of recording anything in the log file, so I've no log to send. The game crashes back to the Loader.
If you have a test server to install beloved-blocks, that's great. Or if you need, I can PM info for you to login on my server to test. You may recognize more of what is going on. I see I do have a "crash-reports" log, so I'll put that info below. I did confirm renaming the Pop Enchants plugin prevents crashing logins (*.litemod --> *.litemod~).
