Thanks for the suggestion!
Mechanist: Sounds great, a very cool idea! Could you talk more about this? such as ....in you mind what kind of items does a mechanist sell?
Shaman: We already have one, who sells stones of changing the weather.
For the Mechanist, he sells technology like gears and thrusters. You could build a jet pack powered by a nether star with the thrusters and other things.

I'm back... I'm having lots of fun with VB!

I had a glitch (once), the Iron Hoe wasn't consumed when making a peasant, but the Golden Hoe was when upgrading. Not sure why I somehow kept the Iron Hoe. (Runs on server, maybe a lag spike?) Please note, it was only once, worked as expected at other times.
Feature idea:
- Change profession tree? (In addition to "Upgrade" and perhaps a free "Downgrade" when chosen wrongly?)
Professions:
- A Banker upgrade to "Savings/Investor"? (It'll generate a few coins over time based on investment, item given perhaps "Ledger" papers?)
- Different Traders? (Ones who buy stuff, for example buying of the items sold by the others and perhaps other items. Maybe at equal rates or at a loss for the player, for example: 10 Wheat doesn't give 5 coppers, but 4.)
Curious log entries (they're INFO, so probably harmless):

I can't even begin to describe how wonderful this mod is!
I couldn't even contain my excitement when I found out it was compatible with Minecraft Comes Alive!
Now perhaps I missed this, but is their any way as of now to marry and have children with the village Box villagers?
I.am.in.LOVE. with the carpets!!
I am no mod maker, so I don't know the struggle of making mods or furniture items or the villagers. Things of that type.
But I do want to point out some things that are noticeable and you could possibly fix if you see fit?
The villagers are huge. And maybe if this was one of a few body types for the profession it wouldn't bother me so much.
So here's me with my good buddy from Village Box, Trace. As you can see Trace is slightly taller than me, which is super cute! I'm a little shorty McShirmpy Pants!
And then we stood back to back
He seems to be a little wider than me as well, which is what started to throw me off, looking up at this big burly villagers made me feel small and I don't even have a mod to alter that for me.
Now, I really don't want you to forget that I adore this mod! I see so much potential behind it and I hope you can aspire to maybe even make it even greater than MCA {gasp!}
I am a person to aesthetics and I like things to be proportional and when I saw the tables and chairs I was in love! Until Trace stood next to them and I put a flower pot on top it.
Nothing is the right height for a villager like Trace.
But I will leave this at that.
Again, I love this mod and have no experience whatsoever with mods and I really don't want you to think I'm whining because it's not perfect. I'm not, honestly!! I just wanted to point out the height and width thing and maybe even leave you with a suggestion?
-More Interaction
*I would like have more things to do with my villagers, tell them jokes, give them hugs and kisses, punch them in the nose and let all heck brake loose in a fight!
*Maybe even Quests depending on what job they are! (I.E a carpenter villager has a big order to fill and he doesn't have time to fetch the wool himself, he needs to finish prepping the dye. If you get him 20 pieces of wool he'll reward you with some coins and any excess carpet he makes.)
I have other ideas but I'm sure I've rambled long enough, so I'll leave it here ;o; I hope I haven't been a headache and PLEASE keep up the great work on this mod!

Thank you for loving our mod and the screenshots are really helpful.
Making carpets also my favorite part during the whole process, I am so glad you love it. Btw, I like you avatar and your character skin.
Wow, we have not find that size problem cause we always play in first person view. We will fix the problem in next version, thank you for notice us.
And about the interaction, we have not decided to add more actions like Kiss or Punch inside now (we already have a lot of things to do on the list), but we will consider this great idea in a later version!
You have the same idea as we do on the quest system.;) We also think it will be more fun if villagers could give some job related quests to players.
Thank you for your feedback, and no worrier about make us headache (that is what we love to see):nssnss:.

I always find screenshots make it easier to see what someone means
The carpets are precious! My favorite one of the whale carpet~!
The only reason I had noticed this size problem is because I like taking screenshots and I realized, 'Oh hello you're at least three inches taller than me??'
And Of course things like interactions would take some time to implement,I can understand why that wouldn't be a top priority at the moment, focus on what you have first~
Ahhh! Awesome! I love quest systems, it gives me something to do! (as I'm not a fighter, i'm a builder and storyteller)
You're welcome! Keep up the great work! This mod has so much potential~
Oh my gosh. So excited about this mod. Thanks for making it you guys. I think I may have accidentally started a YT series based on it. I'll post a link when it's online. Thanks again!

Can't wait to see your videos!
Would there be any chance in using the coins from another commerce mod to work with this (Say, Universal Coins)?
Good idea! But instead of using other currencies directly, perhaps we will make a specific profession of exchanging coins between village box and other sources.
Hey! Nice mod! Yoy should setup github or make it open source as it will help as I am sure that many are willing to contribute by code! Any plans on license or modpack permissions?

Thank you! Yep, this mod is open source on Github. Modpack is ok if you make a link to this post or the curse page:)

Do you mean a job like a auctioneer in mmorpgs?
I suppose that auctioneers would work on servers, but maybe not so much in single player mode. (Toggle with option in config?)
For single players (and/or servers) it would simply mean a reversed process of the selling, but at (lower) prices perhaps.
A Grocer could buy food stuffs ingredients, a pawner for unwanted furniture/carpets, and such.
I also like the quests idea mentioned above.
Is it correct that the wine, whiskey and vodka don't add to the hunger nor have any other effects?
(A nice touch would be if you could add the swirly camera effect from the nether portal if you drink too many in a short time).

Great ideas! I like how you design the auctioneer in SP and MP. The ideas of Grocer and Pawner also sound great!
Yep alcohol doesn't do anything right now, but we plan to add random buffs and visual effects (Your idea is good) when the character drinks it.
I was wondering, there is no recipe for the Alchemy Pot? Also - The villagers are not really doing anything besides staying in the house you assign them to, right? I was expecting that f.e. farmers head out and tend fields in an area around their houses? Guess this mod is completely different from MCA.

Thank you for the questions!
- The Alchemy Pot is WIP now, it will be more interesting later(of course a list of recipes).
- Yep, villagers are not able to interact with the environment spontaneously(like farming), but they still have common behaviors (wandering near home during the day, staying home when it rains or at night, running away from zombies, etc.). We also consider to add more interactions, but it may not be like farming or mining. Village Box has 30+ professions(will be more and more), most of them can't have a "really thing" to do. =P
- Good guess! I love MCA, but it's no necessary to make a clone. Also it's not completely different because they have some similar features(following ,setting home, new skins...). The unique parts of Village Box are highly customizing your own village and upgrading villagers to unlock new items, blocks and gameplays.
Thanks for the answers. From playing a bit more i think i now grasp the concept: The mod is supposed to fill Your custom build town with life. Its neat and i really like the art style / textures. I'd just like to know what to do with the things i can get from a farmer (rice, cabbage,...) - there does not seem to be any recipes/use for it? Maybe there is a cook villager that i can give the ingredients and he creates consumable food for me? Also, how to obtain that alchemy pot? Do i need a wizard villager?
I have a few ideas for that sorta thing.
