Hi, I've been using RTG for my modpacks on Curse and it's one of my favourite mods of all time! I just want to ask one thing though: Does RTG do anything to ocean generation similar to this suggestion? I love the idea of realistic continental landmasses surrounded by ocean, as opposed to Minecraft's vanilla inland-seas. If this isn't already part of the mod, is there a chance it could be in the future?
I was hoping that simply adding a custom biome to the "external biomes" list and configuring its ID, weight, etc., in Climate Control / GeographiCraft would allow that biome to show up in RTG worlds, but it appears that I'm not so lucky.
Is there something I'm missing, or is it necessary for you to specifically add support in RTG for a mod before any custom biomes can show up at all in RTG worlds?
It just seems awfully presumptuous of me to ask for such support for my piddly little week-old mod.

If you wanted to be brave, you could try forking the RTG repo, adding support for it yourself, and submitting a PR. (I promise it's not as difficult as it might look at first glance )
Well, I'll give it a try this weekend and see what I can come up with. Worst case, all that happens is I fail miserably.
And I love your forum handle, by the way. I've been a Pink Floyd fan since "The Wall" came out while I was in high school, and "Wish You Were Here" is arguably my favorite of all their albums.

have you tried check the config of CC (climate Control).. usually, CC has 2 options where you can create a world with "islands and ocean" OR with lands and few ocean/lakes
The BiomeTweaker setting you are looking for is: Tweaker.setAverageBiomeSize("RTG", 4)
A value of 4 is the normal vanilla biome size, and 6 is large biomes. You can set this in the range of 1-127.
Well I tried using the 1.9.4 version before for it, but the game never loaded, it was stuck on ''downloading terrain''. I waited more than 10 minutes and it did nothing.
EDIT: Just retried with CC 1.9.4...still gets stuck on loading ''building terrain'' screen.
EDIT2: I have no idea where to put the Tweaker.setAverageBiomeSize("RTG", 4) in the biometweaker which is the problem I had before, there are no clear instructions in the wiki.
I just looked through the folder for CC's configs and i checked the "CCDimensions" and "biomesoplentyInCC" config files and neither have an option for that, am I missing some files or something?

that can't be right. i will find it. brb...
...
Ok the config is "geographicraft.cfg", its also in the same folder as "CCDminensions" and "biomesplentyinCC". Use a notepad++ to open it...
now take a look at Line 137 to 160
please read the line 139 and 158 (it will explain what the line 137 to 160 do to your generation when you wanted to create a world.
so if you want to have lands.. instead of Ocean with many island... go to Line 159, change "true" to "false"... Let me know if that fix your problem

But the "geographicraft.cfg" isn't in the folder though? Only the two other cfgs are there. Odd.
Made a trailer for the mod:
Hi, I've been using RTG for my modpacks on Curse and it's one of my favourite mods of all time! I just want to ask one thing though: Does RTG do anything to ocean generation similar to this suggestion? I love the idea of realistic continental landmasses surrounded by ocean, as opposed to Minecraft's vanilla inland-seas. If this isn't already part of the mod, is there a chance it could be in the future?
Is "vanilla biome layout" means "Identical biome shape and distribution in vanilla and RTG worlds with same seeds"?
Unfortunately, with minecraft version 1.10.2 and latest RTG build (RTG-1.10.2-4.1.1.2-snapshot-4) i have huge difference in generated worlds
Not only shape, but even biomes are not the same.
RTG has nothing to do with either biome assignment (other than rivers and coast adjustment) and nothing to do with other dimensions.
Climate Control has config options to disable it in specific dimensions. However, this still sound like a biome ID problem. What do the AoA folks say?
This isn't an existing world, right?
Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.

I believe Geographicraft for 1.9.4 works fine in 1.10.2, you can find the latest version here: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/climate-control/files/2309152
You can find the BiomeTweaker Wiki here: https://github.com/superckl/BiomeTweaker/wiki
You can find the RTG example configs for BiomeTweaker here: https://github.com/Team-RTG/Realistic-Terrain-Generation/tree/1.10.2-dev/etc/biometweaker
The BiomeTweaker setting you are looking for is: Tweaker.setAverageBiomeSize("RTG", 4)
A value of 4 is the normal vanilla biome size, and 6 is large biomes. You can set this in the range of 1-127.

All crashes happend when it stands "Creating world, Converting World" on Minecraft
Ive tested all the suspected mods and none of them was the cause, any other mods that might be a suspect?
BTW i noticed that you posted 2 hours after my post, i should check more often
Try without PML and let us know the results, please.

I have BOP + Climate Control + RTG but spawns are only islands. I've fiddled around a bit with the config files for the three mods, but nothing seems to fix it. Anyone got a fix?
have you tried check the config of CC (climate Control).. usually, CC has 2 options where you can create a world with "islands and ocean" OR with lands and few ocean/lakes
Tested with PML disabled (which further disabled Seasons Mod) and no crash, seems like PML was the cause.
This is sad however, as this modpack i made was for more realistic feel, and Seasons was perfect for that.
Anyway i thank you guys for help and i hope this incompatability can get fixed
Odd.
