Update on this: a user by the name gamax92 had an idea for how to do a fabric port, and has a proof of concept. I can't say how stable it is, but it does seem to work, and I'll try to implement and automate their method myself this weekend. (One thing to note is that this will give hash warnings due to how it was ported; for the moment just ignore them)
Hey, I was wondering, is there any way that you can make this support other API's like fabric or forge, because all the methods that I must use to get this mod to work does not work. MultiMC can't launch minecraft, lite load I can't use for some reason, and magic launcher just can't open.

Thats great. Seems to be working fine for me until now.
Is there any way I can set it to automatically start downloading a world every time I rejoin the server?
There currently is a "saved chunks" GUI that shows when various chunks were saved (if ever), but doesn't give any details beyond coordinates (writing a full-scale minimap thing would be rather difficult). You can also render the map afterwards using for instance Minecraft Overviewer for a very detailed result.
Anyone have a mirror? Github won't allow me to download for some reason.
Not sure why that's happening - what happens when you try to download? Does it just fail, or do you get some kind of error message? The github status page reports no issues for today.
BEVARE: 99% of MP servers have a plugin, that bans you if you use a world-downloader. Handle this wih care, and ask a mod before logging in with this downloader installed!
In the MultiMc download, it says that you need to select a .zip file when you have to "Add jar Mod" but i downloaded the mod but its a .RAR file and its not working and i also have searched for the file You have to choose but its nowhere to be found. Did i do anything wrong? Its the 1.14.4 version im trying to get running btw

I don't use RAR files (due to the closed nature of the format, which has caused problems for me before), so if you're seeing a RAR file you've done something wrong. You might have set up .zip files to open in WinRAR, though. The direct link to version 4.0.5.3 for 1.14.4 is https://github.com/Pokechu22/WorldDownloader/releases/download/v4.0.5.3/mod-worlddownloader-baseedit-4.0.5.3-mc1.14.4.zip. One other thing to note is that "add jar mod" was renamed to "add to minecraft.jar" a while back.
(If you want my advice for dealing with RAR files -- which is probably overkill since I'm a bit ideological here -- you should just uninstall WinRAR and use 7-Zip instead. 7-Zip is free and open-source, and it is also capable of extracting RAR files should you run into them; it only cannot create them (which is fine, since it can create other formats that work with more programs). Doing this probably won't directly solve the problem, but I feel obligated to mention it anyways.)
I tried to add this to MultiMc (which I use for everything except my Aristois client launcher) but I am missing something because Minecraft launches and plays just fine but there is no World Downloader anywhere. I think the issue is in configuring MultiMC to do the right thing with the mod? At first I read the instructions and it said to use "add jar mod" but that it had been changed to "add to minecraft jar". I can't find that option anywhere.
EDIT: OK, I figured it out. I made some bad assumptions that the place to configure the mod was in the "Loader Mod" section of the Edit Instance screen. It isn't - you need to go to the "Version" option and from there click the "Add to Minecraft JAR" link and browse for the mod. Do not include it in your loader mods!
Seems to work great on it's own instance installed in multiMC but with optifine and/or xray it crashes when i press done at the multi-world disclaimer screen it says Saving world for a few secs and crashes

The base edit is incompatible with most other mods due to the simplistic way it works, unfortunately. I'm slowly working on porting 1.14 to other loaders, but I don't have any time estimate. That said, even then I won't be able to guarantee compatibility with optifine or other mods. My recommendation is to just use a separate profile when you need to download and then have a separate profile for optifine (I do not condone the use of xray or similar unless the server allows it; don't use mods to get a gameplay advantage please. I have used xray stuff in the past when designing mob farms, so there are far uses for it. Just be fair.)

Gotcha, thanks for taking the time to reply. I would love to have WorldDownloader on my every-day-play profile so that all my work was automatically saved, but I also appreciate the zoom feature in optifine. Yep I got xray to locate small caves that mobs would spawn in around my creeper farm, and then found I liked it for taking photographs of large projects like my huge item sorter that looks really cool when you can see all the mechanisms without being obscured behind walls and floors.
I agree that using xray for locating bases or exploration/mining on a survival server is no-good. Thanks for your work on the mod, a buddy and I have spent probably 200+ hours each on a "vanilla survival" server and are now getting griefed by the admin and his OP friends teleporting to us to find our locations. Time to pack it up and rehost our work where we can play legit.
is there really no way to download the full server instantly or to load all chunks in the world without being admin, just walking through every chunk is really a pain
(Sorry for not replying earlier; it slipped my mind.) For personal reasons, I don't accept donations. Instead, I ask you to donate to the internet archive (archive.org); the work they do is really important in preserving history and I've used the wayback machine many times when recovering information from now-dead sites for various projects. Donations are currently being matched 3 to 1 (so a $1 donation gives them $4), and donations are also tax-deductible (in the US at least; I don't know details of tax laws throughout the world).

No; the server only sends chunks near the player, so there is no technical means to do download all of them at once. You can of course ask the server owner to send you a copy of the map (or to publicly post a download of an old version, or something similar), though; social means exist in addition to technical means.
I Just downloaded a map and than uploaded it to my private Server where i Play with my Friends... The Problem is the world dont gets generated when we travel around, so there is Always a Border where the Mod stopped downloading. There is No seed given or downloaded because i had No OP rights. Ist there any quick solution?

There is no quick solution. You can travel around while downloading to save more chunks, but unless you have the seed, you can't generate new chunks that match the old ones. You can supply world generation options (... -> Generator settings), but unless you use the same seed as the server, you will still get weird results on the chunk borders where generation doesn't match up. Enabling some kind of terrain generation in that menu still may be preferable to having complete void, though. (Void is the default to make it obvious that the area wasn't downloaded.)

maybe there could be a detailed map of the chunks that are saved so i can get a better overview
