Does anyone know why the map doesn't generate when loaded in single player?
The mod doesn't know the seed the world uses by default (it's not sent), so by default it uses an empty chunk generator (a superflat preset that only generates air). Otherwise, without the seed, you'd get chunks from a different, random map, which wouldn't work well. If you know the seed (or it's a superflat map or something else that's easy to generate), you can change this in the generator settings for the mod.
If you're going to be traveling into wilderness, save some of the wilderness from the server first so that it's pregenerated.

Is there a way to fix this other than modifying the level.dat file?
Is there a way to fix this other than modifying the level.dat file?
Set the options in the mod's generator settings (under ...). If you already have the world, you can start download a second time and immediately stop, and the mod will regenerate the level.dat (and resave the chunks you're in, merging the rest of the world). The missing chunks by the edge will still be missing and probably won't regenerate, so you'll either need to use MCEdit to delete them or redownload them (which will overwrite the missing ones).
I've been building on a server for 4 years and recently oone of the new admins banned me and a bunch of other older players. I was going to get on an alt and download my builds so I can put it on my own server, but it turns out they have ezprotector (which blocks world downloader) Is there any way I can bypass this? I don't want to lose all of my stuff... thanks. (The server is 1.11.2 if that makes a difference.)

Please PM me for the appropriate procedure. I'm going to have to speak with that plugin dev (this is getting out of hand, assuming they're not using the plugin channels correctly), and maybe I'll change the appropriate sections.
Though if there is a chance that they'll listen to reason (new admins banning people doesn't imply that, but it's always worth trying), then try going through them.
I have no idea what i did or did wrong but WDL worked fine until it didnt allow me to change world or anything. I would press download this world and this window would pop up and then it would download the world, no gui would pop up just would go striaght to downloading how would i fix? (might be to do with multi world support idk)

If you have multiworld disabled, then it'll go straight to downloading. If you have multiworld enabled, then it'll prompt you for which world, and then start downloading. In either case, downloading should work fine, you just need to select.
In both cases, to view options, you need to select the "...", not "Download this world".
If you wish to enable multiworld after previously not having enabled it, there isn't a simple way. But, you can either rename or delete the first downloaded world (or, the WorldDownloader.txt file within) and it'll regenerate the settings.
If this isn't what you were asking about, feel free to clarify.
I recently fired up my Minecraft after a long time and I updated this mod (4.0.0.3). I am now faced with this issue. All of the text in the menu for the WDL is written in like.. code. *ie wdl.gui.multiworld.description.etc... Any ideas on how to fix it? See the image in the spoiler

This is a known bug, which I'm working on fixing, due to asset capitalization changes in the latest Minecraft version. It doesn't happen in 1.11.2, only in versions before 1.11 (the legacy 3.x series of builds also doesn't have the issue, so you can use those for the moment). It'll be fixed in the next release (which should happen before 1.12, probably).
What's being displayed is the translation "key"s, which are then passed to the game to be converted into meaningful text in various languages (English and my somewhat broken Spanish, currently). However, if the game can't load the translation file, then it'll just display the keys, giving that effect.
As far as I'm aware, it only happens on Mac, as well, which is why I didn't run into it earlier.

As a temporary workaround, you can use this file as a resource pack and it should load the text (I think). It's not completely up-to-date (it was a workaround for an older variant of the issue caused by incorrect installation), so some text still won't be translated, but it should be enough to use the basic parts of the mod.
Mod can be loaded using Toolbox for MCPE app without root
At the moment I do not want to touch MCPE. Primarily, I don't even have a phone compatible with it, but I've also taken a brief look at what is known of the protocol, and determined that I don't want to try to work with it (those aren't the packets used by the game. They're the packets used by the infamous RakNet library, instead... which... bleh, I'd much rather stick with the protocol I know).
At some point in the distant future, I may look into it, but it isn't something that I can do anytime soon.
It's the new launcher now.... oigh..... Soi modify the jar file and delete the meta-inf but when i try to log on, it downloads the meta-inf again and deletes all of the files i added in.

I'm trying to load this in MultiMC and I get the error "archive does not contain instance.cfg" and I'll confess to not reading all 24 pages of the thread so if this was already dealt with on a previous page, I apologize for the repetition, and humbly request the solution again.

Looks like you're trying to load it as a modpack in MultiMC; that's the wrong option. You need to add it as a Jar Mod.
Any Expected release date for 1.12 World Downloader?
I'm already working on it. I've run into some trouble with the build system (and keeping 1.11.2 builds working at the same time), which is why it's taking longer than I expected. Should definitely be ready by Wednesday; I'm hoping to get it ready today.

Press Windows-R and type in %appdata%/.minecraft/mods
and it will take you right to the mods folder
