It's crashing when I start up the game, dammit! Sorry for language. Seems to be about rendering some sort of egg, as without the mod, it doesn't crash...
I took a quick look at your log, and as I said, I can't do serious debugging without the mod's source code (only the devs have that), I can say that it looks like your forge is outdated. The mod post says that forge 1.8-11.14.4.1563 or higher is recommended, and it looks like the crash was caused by the mod trying to use some forge code that isn't in your outdated version of forge. Try using this version: http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.8.html (use the recommended version on the right side).

Max_the_Technomancer is right. If you do not have an up-to-date version of forge it will not support the new way of doing mob eggs which I have implemented in the mod. (The new forge pretty much set the standard for how to create mob eggs) This feature was introduced in the following forge version: 1.8-11.14.3.1468. This version however is buggy so I would recommend downloading the recommended build. Sorry for the somewhat late response =)

They redid how they handle Spawn Eggs? That may help out with another mod related crash. During some of my previous testing I ran into a really nasty one with Evilcraft where certain mob spirits couldn't be used in the Spirit Reanimator (which converts them back into Spawn Eggs) and would "super crash" in the Spirit Furnace (which simulates a momentary spawning to get dropped loot). The new code could explain that. Meanwhile I have a question about the Nightmare Realm: Is it supposed to forbid mob spawning? Those hostile Furbies apparently didn't get your memo. Same story with the Void Chest dimension except it's more avoidable there.

Firstly, until the forge version I listed above, spawn eggs had to be manually created meaning an entity and its egg had no real relation. The egg was just an item that created an entity when you right clicked. This means it was up to the mod dev to create eggs and everyone did them differently. Now, with the new forge, when registering an entity into the dictionary you have the option of automatically creating a spawn egg as well. All you give is the two colors used in the egg and the item is created. This is good because it normalizes how eggs are supposed to work, but also requires mod devs to actually use the system which might be your problem.
Secondly, I might have a solution for the mob spawning thing. Right now, in the biome code for the "nightmare" biome and "void chest" biome, I'm running code to clear all spawn-able entities in the biomes. This, however does not mean that someone could not come along later and add their own mobs to the biome after I've cleared it. I do, however, have the option of disabling spawns in a dimension which I can try. One thing that would work for sure is checking when an entity joins a world, then check the dimension of the entity and if the dimension is voidChest or nightmare kill it. This might come at a slight performance cost though. I'll try to disable spawning through the dimension first, and if that doesn't work I can try the kill method.

I'll remember to go to you first for any technical code explanations. You're giving me some real insights as to how the system works behind the scenes. Now I understand what happened. CooAlias' (Zelda Sword Skills) code was so different from what Kroeser (Evilcraft) was expecting that he couldn't even designate entity tracking using that method as either valid or invalid so his machine couldn't figure it out and "super crashed" causing a world killer scenario. Programming logic paradox = see endless loop. For now I'll just run with the "Robo Nightmare" as it's adding some interesting flavor to my run on Solitarycraft, but I can see why it needs to be cleared completely in the future. I think I could do my research a lot easier in there if I didn't have speedy little robots running into me like overexcited hounds.
Currently Tagii and I have been busy with college midterms and just college in general so development in general has been very slow (hopefully not for long). The magic system is far from complete but the ideas are there they just need implementing.
I was made aware of some "exploits" with the nightmare realm regarding baubles and furbies. (Thank you glitch reaper ^_^, you'll have to find another way to get items out now) I've fixed the furby issue, but the baubles will take some more time. (I've never used baubles so far)
I also thought I'd mention that the lag in the nightmare realm is somehow due to the MC engine. I've allocated 12gb of ram to MC and it did not help at all. When the nightmare schematic is placed in a regular world the framerate is just as bad. I found installing optifine helps significantly, other then that I'm not sure which blocks are causing the lag...

I wondered what you'd think of that. I could still save the items without the invading army of hostile furbies, but with them providing materials everywhere they can spawn (just because nothing else can) it's a bit ridiculous. I'm pretty sure having access to Ender Pearls from those Ender Furbies is going to break something. I had already considered using them for an alternate way of breaking the embargo. The big goal is still getting that research though. I've used that Star Metal Armor in testing and I really want it. That full set bonus turns you into a tank!

Feel free to do whatever you want of course, but the intended behavior is to keep the nightmare inventory separate from the overworld inventory. We did realize when making the world that if anyone ever found a way to move items it would be quite op as you've found out ;), but we honestly can't keep track of 500 mods all adding items and crafting recipes and new inventory slots etc. I guess I could be super mean and tag every item in the nightmare realm with a self destruct tag if found in an inventory outside of the nightmare realm. I honestly don't want to do that though and find it interesting to see how creative people are to get items out =).

It would also go with the lore of the Cthulhu Mythos (which it appears you're going for) that the Dreamlands are another plane of existence that certain powerful forms of magic can access directly. I'm not just walking in and out. I have a magic bag that allows me to keep a part of my dream. In other news I found a much more dynamics/story breaking mod interaction in my testing world. If the config for Battle Towers still allows you to blacklist dimensions/biomes for them to show up in then blacklist the Nightmare Realm if you play with both of them. I saw one smashed over part of the main build and I presume all Research Scrolls were lost. I don't think that's happened in my Youtube world, but I learned a valuable lesson when that happened in my test world.
Another quick update: I released a 1.8.9 version that should be relatively stable with any magic system components disabled. It's not tested at all and may have bugs, but it does work on MC 1.8.9. If you have any problems, just post here.

oh my, 26 mb. You've officially taken place 2 for largest mod in my pack. First largest is kingdom keys recoded at like 30 something then you're followed by botania at like 15 or so.
edit2: Feels like boom.
A crash about concurrent modifications and animations or something. I was in a gnomish dungeon or something of the sort that spawned out in the world and not in any specific biome it seemed. enchanted skellies, a few rare werewolfies and some sorta gnome drones. also the room with the farms in it that generated, all the what I guess is meant to be tilled dirt, wasn't tilled so all the crops had popped out. :V I was just under said room in among the glowing mushrooms slashing up spiderps when it just randomly happened.

Firstly, the file size is because of a few HD textures. The background image for the telescope is in 4k resolution and makes up 13mb or so. We've had ideas on changing this and a few of the other textures to decrease the file size (probably to like 10mb) and make it look more "minecrafty". If this is worth it or not, I'm not sure. (Does the large file size actually make that big of a difference? What's your opinion?)
Secondly, the crash is one I've been wrestling with since AOTD 1.0. It's a bug caused by a library I'm using (So not in my code unfortunately...) called MCAnimator. It allows for the entities in our mod to be animated easily and cleanly. If you disable entity animations in the config, this bug shouldn't occur but the mobs will look quite strange without animations. Other than this, how often are you crashing with that error? I haven't had it happen in a while and thought I fixed it (MCA is open source so I've been tweaking my copy of it). Unfortunately debugging other people's code is not very easy...
Hey, I just wanted to let you know I am strongly considering doing a playthrough using only your mod on youtube. Great mod, I really enjoy it But if I were to do a series which version would you recommend 1.8 or 1.8.9?

Magic system components disabled? How unstable is the magic system? I've been wanting to have a crack at the magic system for a while so I may try it out on my 1.8.9 profile.

Any will work, but 1.8.9 is untested and yet "should" be the same as the 1.8 version. If you want to use the 1.8.9 version that's fine just be aware that if you find any bugs it might just be because 1.8.9 does things slightly differently than 1.8. If you want to be safe just use the 1.8 version. The content is almost identical in both.

The magic system is far from complete... but here's what I've somewhat completed.
1) The core of the spell system is in place, and spells are saved to the player and hopefully can be instantiated (not sure if this is working yet, read #2
2) The thing that is most incomplete is the GUI, which is the interface for making the spells. It does not function at all right now and I've been working on re-writing a lot of the GUI code. This means there really isn't a way to get at spells in game unless you force create them in the code =( This is why the spell system is disabled. Unfortunately the default MC game engine makes GUI very difficult to do, so I've had to create my own dumbed down version of how Java's "Swing" library does GUIs.
3) Only projectile and explosions are done right now but once the GUI is complete, adding more effects and modifiers will be fairly easy

Hey, sorry for taking a while to reply. I'm usually a lot quicker but cause of a slightly longer post both times I left the post up in the background something happened to restart my computer and I'd lose it. >_>.
Anyway, the difference with the filesize depends. since once this is compatible with RTG when they add the support I'll probably be adding this to a technic solder to make it easier to update, so it's just a me problem that larger files to upload to it means longer wait cause of horrible internet, but high quality textures are alright I think, it makes stuff stand out more and in some cases look nicer. In my case, whole point of mods it to get stuff that stands out and changes the way you play and stuff. Although that means the wood sorta needs to be used by itself cause the texture is so different to the rest.
I only got the crash that once before the makers of RTG replied that they don't have biome spawning support quite yet. So that sorta makes me want to hold off including this until I know RTG which I currently use will generate your biomes. Although, some structures did turn up. Like the moderately large tree with a "spring" in the water under it or the gnomish underground staircase I ran into, so I don't exactly know how much more often it would happen. One of the shredder drones probably spawned and was derping around along with the enchanted skellies in the next room and a couple of werewolves hanging out. and yeah, I've got a lot of mods, so lot of chance for something to go nuclear on me. :<

And again I appreciate your insight into coding. Java is the limiting factor here. I may have heard of a possible trick to circumvent this, but it would probably bite more into the processing power than what you may have in mind. I've heard of using "negotiator" programs to translate between code types or programming languages. The real problem is that they always wind up going slower than the slowest system present and tend to cause a lot of lag. When your magic system is ready for the 1.8.9 version I'll test it out and start another series with it and other 1.8.9 mods (concurrent or not).

In version 1.8.9-1.1.2 client's cannot connect to server. The server slams this http://pastebin.com/61141B5q then remote clients get a forcible removal from server error. The server itself or client never crashes, only the client-side gets kicked from server. I am dying to play with this mod.

Darkmega's Latest Modpack for 1.12.2. Timeless Technician! Tech centered, Semi-hardcore, Combat oriented.
Looking for developers for divided modpack based on AoA.

Magic system components disabled? How unstable is the magic system? I've been wanting to have a crack at the magic system for a while so I may try it out on my 1.8.9 profile.
If regular is Vanilla then what flavor is your Minecraft?

If regular is Vanilla then what flavor is your Minecraft?
In version 1.8.9-1.1.2 client's cannot connect to server. The server slams this http://pastebin.com/61141B5q then remote clients get a forcible removal from server error. The server itself or client never crashes, only the client-side gets kicked from server. I am dying to play with this mod.
There is a spell-check built in most browsers, why don't people use it?!
