The dragons sinking into the ground comment you made just made me curious about something
will tame dragons create hoards, like wild ones? I would think not, but it would be a interesting thing to farm since it would involve non-grievous bodily harm, like you would subject yourself to while raiding a wild nest. I mean they wouldn't be as extensive as wild ones, since tame ones don't travel as much as say a wild one would, but even tame I doubt a dragon wouldn't pass up the opportunity to collect and hoard shiny stuff
We get this too often. You say you'd "love" to try it out, but you do not realize that entails dragons randomly flying to 120000 y and crashing your game, making the save unusable, or having the dragon that took you five irl days sinking through the ground, never to be seen again. I get that everybody thinks everything is well and good and the mod is basically done, but there are thinks that still need to be done.
When I say "try out", I mean that. I get that most people say "test" when they really mean "use" and end up complaining about every last thing. If the author doesn't want to post a download link, that's their prerogative. But not only do I work as a software developer for a living (meaning, I'm constantly inundated with bugs that need testing and fixing), I'm also the art director for the enormous Skyrim modding project, Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil. I'm used to testing broken things. I do it all the time.
tl;dr - Please don't assume that my offer was not genuine, or that I don't understand what "beta" means.
Someone mentioned making a breeding add themselves on so they could hybridize and thus flood the game with the desired dozens of dragons that players occasionally ask for. But what about player made add ons that affect other aspects of the game? One thought that might be a bit OP runs along the lines of the Chicken Shed mod and is based on reptiles shedding their skins. On occasion pet dragons would drop a scale, like a slower and silent version of chickens leaving eggs. From time to time, by random chance, a scale would drop. The scale is simply dropped and if you are mounted you may or may not collect it, so simply hovering on your dragon (if you can hover) doesn't fill your inventory with scales. Another thought is an add on that would allow for the enchanting of dragon armor, since it has been stated by developers that this will not happen.

A long time ago someone suggested an idea that I personally liked very much - dragon eggs themselves to be enchantable, influencing the dragon inside and giving it a buff, like Sharpness for slightly higher attack damage. I liked it because it'll add a bit more of individuality and personality to the dragon. I don't remember if the devs said anything about it, but if it doesn't get added in the future, than maybe this could be an add-on, too.
I'm not sure if this add-on talk is considered spam or off topic, but I'm positive that it gives the devs an impression of us being whiny brats that just want more and more, and maybe even offending them a bit, so let's keep the add-ons topic for when the mod is finally released and even then create another thread just for this topic, with Alex and Raptor's permission, if needed, of course.
P.S: I think this is my longest comment yet on this thread. XD XD XD

At least your dragon giving you a gold nugget once in a while will probably be the equivalent of a cat bringing home a dead mouse. And if it would be possible to farm off your tamed oned how "old" the dragon is would pertain to what you get
level 1-gold nugget and small stuff
level 2-Gold Ingot
level 3-diamond/Emerald and so on and so on
i think it would be interesting to see your dragons bring you little nicknacks once In a while
something to give the devs an idea on my planned add-on mod, or maybe they might wind up adding it to the core of the mod one day:
Drakes (or lessar dragons)
to get a drake you must breed a Fire dragon /w an Ice dragon, which will only be able to be done during a full moon. the result is essentially a dragon which grows only to be the size of a stage 3 dragon, that has no elemental attack, and can only glide.(and by glide i mean glide in a elytra sense and not as a parachute sense) however it is a bit easier to get a ice and fire dragon to breed as long as it is done during a full moon cycle. So this could add a new playstyle of a "drake breeder" someone who sells drakes as a easily profitable business on multiplayer servers, because i mean seriously, who would sell a fully fledged dragon? the ability to sell stunted hybrids as a lower class of dragon/ war beast to worthy knights is a fun way to add life to a multiplayer server utilizing this mod. hopefully, when the mod releases, the developers wouldn't mind me creating this add-on, as i don't see how it could hurt them, or their mod. this also adds in the opportunity to what is essentially a dragon version of a mule, and can be done in a way that adds some more bland colors on a Draconis species but with more elaborate patterns on the scales.

Would they want to part with their precious gold, though? XD I could see a young dragon stealing your gold to make its own little pile in the house... not the other way around.
As far as tamed dragons making lairs goes, I'd sooner see them stealing your gold or happily hording any gold you give them. Maybe place gold blocks and they turn them into the piles or place piles of gold, which we will be able to craft, where you keep them. But instead of making huge, deep lairs I'd sooner imagine them making roosts. That's if pet dragons alter the terrain beyond blasting it. Perhaps having gold to hoard helps to keep them settled and reduces the chances of them going rogue. Sort of like slowing the drain on a happiness or tolerance gauge. It doesn't outright prevent it, but it decreases the chance of it happening.
no worries! so am i a bit... i like to dabble in both peaceful travels and genocidal fiery rampages.
speaking of mass death, has anyone heard of the overlord mod? it's the perfect mod to go along with the upcoming I/F mod since you can use it to amass massive armies of undead warriors to march upon a dragons horde or roost! call yourself the lich king if you're feeling up to it...

Never heard of it, but I have got to check that out. Does it require an API?
On another note I'm hoping that the Chameleon API will be compatible so I can use the Storage Drawers mod.

Also, I've heard of the overlord mod, too. It's pretty neat. 😜

Can I test you this MOD. I occasionally you don't return to me, the mail is spam. I especially like you this MOD.

it uses the same API I/F does... which is LLibrary
