By any chance will phoenix's be apart of this mod in the near future?
Near future, not likely. There are many far future mobs listed in the future creatures spoiler on page one. I don't remember what was specifically said by the developers about phoenixes, if anything, but phoenixes have been brought up before.
So, I just installed minecraft just because I found this thread. I only registered here because I wanted to ask a little question and to say how awesome your mod is! <3 Really, I couldn't find any fantasy mods with interesting lore and background, cool atmosphere and impressive new monsters and crafting stuff. It seems like you created an own new world and not just a "dragons only" mod, it's like a whole new fantasy world to explore. I can't wait to get my hands on it, haha!
My question is - will there be all or some of the other preview creatures in the first release? The models are finished as it appears, so I hope that some of the new monsters will make an appearence besides the dragons.
I believe the Devs have said that the main download will be just the dragons and all the things you need to enjoy that. I think they said that in the future the other creatures will be released in add-on mods that they will be creatively. (In my mind all the water related mobs will be in a separate mod, all the air, the land etc...). Also if you like fantasy mods with lore, background, atmosphere, and cool mobs then I highly suggest the Between Lands mod. I just got into it and it is pretty cool and interesting. I'll put a link for you (and any one else) to check it out.
Hey, I have a few suggestions (for future updates, duh!) that I wanted to share to see if anyone likes them.
1. Dragons to be able to glide. From what I've seen so far from GIFs and short videos, they flap their wings all the time. I personally don't mind it all what so ever, its just that gliding for a few seconds will make the dragons's flight a tad bit more realistic.
2. The player should be able to set a tamed dragons's "home point", pretty much like a MCA villager, so that they could leave their dragon to do and go wherever it wants and be sure that it will be back at night or something and won't run away forever.
Nothing too special, just a few suggestions for the future updates that I personally think will make this mod a tiny bit better.
Also, looks like everybody is pretty hyped at this point. I wonder if we'll be able keep our sanity 'till the official release.
Oods are they woulda been stolen/eaten by you in the future they were screwed from day one XD
XD XD XD True...
I might sound dumb, but what version of Minecraft is this coming out for? I know NOT 1.7.10, But what is it? 1.8, 1.9, 1.10?
Also, when is the expected release?
Hunt them to the last. Today we extinguish the Covenant's light forever!
mostlikely 1.10.2 Look at the tags
Yes 1.10.2
Would it be possible for a 1.8 version? I don't know if it can support those models though.

Why waste are time porting to 1.8. I don't even know of any mods there that haven't ported further.
Fair enough. Anyway, the mods i want to use with this already have or are making 1.10 versions. (Thaumcraft, Draconic Evolution, CustomNPC's)

When is the first release planned?

You could always try performing a search?
Ice and Fire: Dragons in a whole new light
so wil the mod be released when the prerelease is finished or will it from beta-pre official release-official release?

Lol ya. I just stumbled upon it like a week and a half ago.
XD They're still squashing bugs and they refuse to release a download that isn't running right.
Ice and Fire: Dragons in a whole new light
1.7.10 for a good half year or so and they're updating to 1.10.2 as we speak.
Cool! I haven't tried it, but if they're compatible it might be fun to mix them.
Ice and Fire: Dragons in a whole new light
exactly what i was thinking
