hello, i am the Lord of night, Decay: The Witherer i have returned. some mayhave known me as Herobrine, others as entity 404 the fact is... we are all the same, we are always here, and we are always watching
i think maybe if you place different jewls around your base the dragon will still come around but will not attack you unless in retaliation.
so depending on the jem you place the dragon will keep from attacking you longer for example:
place down a gold block = 1 mc day of protection
place down a diamond block = 2 mc days of protection.
so on and so fourth.

The dragons are just wild mobs that spawn at random. Depending on its stage, its age, it will either aggro or run. The higher its stage the more powerful/ dangerous the animal and the lower its spawn rate. The village ravaging dragons you're worried about repelling are going to be too rare to make surrounding your house with mined diamond blocks worth the trouble.
Instead of placing blocks on the ground surrounding an area to deter attacks for a specified time what if something was made that creates a sphere of protection and you feed it the way you feed a furnace? As though you were placing offerings in a tiny shrine or refreshing a magic spell. Or maybe you don't feed it at all and it doesn't have a very big range. Or the shield's range depends on what you give/ feed it. Either way a magic shield for repelling aggressive dragons from your home/ village would be cool. I say sphere because dragons that are flying up high enough might go right over it. Wild dragons would be repelled from coming within a certain distance of the object/ block the way creepers avoid coming any closer to cats. They hit that mark and they turn away or stalk around the edge. A square range like we have for water hydrating crops works just as well (the way 1 block of water hydrates a 9x9 square area of crops) and it might be easier if it went from bedrock to 255. It would also be easier to build within a square space. But I like the concept of it being a sort of magic shield. With those fire/ ice attacks the object would need to have a fairly large range, such as a radius of 20 to make a diameter of 40 in the case of the sphere.

May I just say, this mod looks amazing! Aside from dragon mounts, there really aren't many good dragon mods, and even DM doesn't have that many features yet. I'm definitely looking forward to the release- this mod looks incredible!
Though, I will say, I'm surprised to see you stating that they're "technically wyverns". Although it's true that most dragons are hexapodal, I had always thought that quadrupedal dragons were still dragons. Unless my sources are incorrect, wyverns differ in that they do not breathe fire (or ice) and instead have a poison barb on their tails. Not sure if that's correct or not, but that's what I remember reading lol.
We've agreed to just call them dragons and be done with it, please, do not open that can of wyrms...again, just please. I don't think anyone has the energy for that left. Also all of that stuff you said has already been said already.

that line is only there to stop the "hurr durr these aren't dragons they're wyverns hurr durrr".
why does nobody get that dragons and wyverns are the same thing. it is literally the same word in a different language. oh well i don't want to start people up on that dumb thing so nevermind

I guess this is around the same premiss of the 2014 spino real or fake thing? ._.

Well, usually, wyverns are bipedal, animalistic, and don't breath fire, instead flying at foes and poisoning them with their bites.
The only time the very former and latter don't count is if you are in the Monster Hunter universe.
i dunno bout' u guys but i REALLY want to see a giant python-like snake (not a gorgon) that hides in the woods and brush and makes pig noises to draw you in. then it coils around you and KILLS YOU
maybe even with a Dragon-Like head and small immobile legs that are rendered completely useless.
similar if not the same as this image.

Basically you want a Wyrm, a large snake like dragon, or relative of dragons, however you want to define a 'dragon'. (P.S. I really don't care how you define a dragon, all you who want to argue about definitions) The only difference being is that it doesn't use venom I suspect and had vestigial limbs.

Thank you!!!
This is something that is also planned. Dragons could be appeased with constant sacrifices so they do not attack your local area.

Definition of Wyvern: a winged two-legged DRAGON with a barbed tail.
How many times is this subject going to come up? At this point it's just spam and clutter. All of this has been said before SEVERAL TIMES!
