Updating to 1.8 is inevitable I guarantee that. It's a shame that some people have issues with 1.8, but we can't just lag behind for them.
yes, i know, but i'm afraid some 1.7.10 mods will never update to 1.8 with the changes the modders have to go through. Not this mod, but maybe others that we love to play with.

Especially carpenter's blocks, said the creator that he will not update it to 1.8

didn't they fix some of the stuff affecting the 1.8 version of minecraft as of 1.8.4?
Also we may need to have a list of mods that wont make it to 1.8 since we all may have to do some reworking of our individual modpacks to continue playing, as well as help those with servers know which mods they can't use unless they have a universal build (like with the Iron Chest mod). It'd take a long time to go through every mod currently in 1.7 to see if there will be a 1.8 version for them or not so I figured I'd ask that here so those who visit can get the lowdown on what they should look for when they assemble their own modpacks.
Among the mods that wont move on I hope buildcraft isn't one of them, as quarries make a lot of the fossils and archeology mod easier to do. I do however know Tinker's Construct is in 1.8 which is great since the F/A mod has such a huge dependency on iron to make both the tools to mine fossils and the materials for many of the item blocks used to clone/feed the prehistoric mobs. Plus Tinkers can help with any other mod one includes in a pack to get the right tools for a certain task.

Speaking of, in the next day or two I'm going to set something up so we can start collecting feedback regarding mod compatibility and such. Stay tuned for more info on it.

I'm yet to encounter any of these FPS drops, or bugs in 1.8.
I have a new account called "Mushroomsock" now, so please do not send me PMs.

Well that really is not our concern. You using their mod with the latest game version is on them.
Looks like my dino`s are despawing after server restart. Should they do this? They grow just fine, but next time i log on they have disappeared?
No, this is not normal behavior. What's your server set up look like? Also what version of the mod, forge version, etc.

I recently added the plugin to my server but for some reason it's not working. Do you have any idea why it may not be working?
The server is a 1.8 server
Fossils and Archeology does not work on Minecraft 1.8 at the moment.
