When the new paper comes out, they'll likely see to it.
Don't think it's quadrupedal though.
I don't think it is either... that and if this new paper that's been talked about a VERY long time was coming out anytime soon, you would think it would
You know what would be cool? A themed update where a bunch of "dino-birds," including Microraptor, Therizinosaurs, Yi qi, etc. were added to the mod, maybe with passenger pigeons and moas as well. Perhaps some decorations similar to the well-preserved fossils with feather imprints that scientists keeping digging up in China or some kind of feather-based decorative item could be added as well.
Better yet, why not a Plant Update, where everything from Cry Violets to Lepidodendron gets added in? Maybe you could be able to place some of the smaller plant species in volutes: there's dirt in it already, so why not?
What do you mean it's not quadrupedal? Just look at this...
Seriously though this animal is nearly unrecognizable from the one in my books as a toddler. I am not going to be too surprised if it turns out the current model is still wrong.
That said it certainly seems more likely it was semi-quadrupedal and not an obligate quadruped. It hardly has the massive legs of the JP3 version by most reconstructions. Ibrahim's revision is likely flawed but it could very well be a step in the right direction. http://www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/theres-something-fishy-about-spinosaurus9112014
As for the plants. There was a screenshot of a bunch of new ones just before everyone started suggesting more if you back up thread a bit.
As for the avian dinos. Microraptor and Therizinosaurs are among my favorites so I'd be down. Though how much more bird like is Therizinosaurs than Velociraptor or some of the others in mod already?
will you have a config option to turn off animation? it may cause lag on worlds and i like my minecraft mobs blocky and simple
The new animations aren't going with new skeletons or models from what I understand. This is still the blocky-est dino mod. If you want animation in general turned off this seems like a feature for a generic base mod. I mean if F&A turned off animations for everything it would be weird and not having animations on ONLY the F&A stuff seems even weirder.
If they will have sitting and poncing/ jumping animations like Jurassicraft, and other animations too, I want to disable that because it doesn't fit minecraft for me, and it causes lag.

Probably would. The new unique, never done before method we are using for animation requires Json files, like blocks in 1.8. effectively, you could edit/replace these Jsons in resource packs, just like block models!
So yes, it can be possible to make a JP resource pack editing the models, along with Prehistoric Park, 2015 Spinosaurus, tail walking Rex... the possibilities are endless!

I agree.
Use the Ring Luke, he who controls the Ring controls the raptors~ Dumbledore

When is that stupid paper going to come out anyway?
Not soon enough, that's for sure.
I suppose my above comment was a bit impatient, but still.

I bet that'll break the mod.
I agree here.

F/A has always been known for its pleasant simplicity and overall Minecraftiness. I feel that these new animations would disturb that nice simplicity.
Those are still good animations nonetheless, I'm just torn between 'good' or 'bad' for the mod.

That's what i'm trying to say, i just want a config option to disable it in the future.
Frog got me wrong.
It'll break the game because it'll cause the mobs to derp, have broken models, or even crash the game.
When will this awesome mod update to 1.8?
oh, but cant hey have a model with set animations and when the config option is changed it will revert to a animation-less model?
Are you sure you can do that without messing things up...
Oh.
Whoops.

I want them to make a config option to turn on/off the new animations, like the ones showed in the video.
