Yes, if I remove the mod, the lag also stops. It happens quite frequently ranging from 1-2 times per minute and lasts for a fraction of a second to a second. It happens even if I'm standing still.
Did you test it for minutes without the mods? Did you also remove Optifine?
Is there anyway to change the colors of blocks. I sometimes do an envoy and I wanna be able to see the chests in something like bright neon pink or maybe a aqua colour.
Use a texture pack that makes the chests the colour you want them to be. (I think that'll work)

I managed to recreate the white blinking but not the "repeating" areas. The blinking only happens in caves.
I'm pretty sure they both only happen in caves because I didn't see either when above ground.
You probably see World Map chunks when above ground anyway. I didn't encounter these issues above ground with default loading too though.
EDIT: And below ground too, actually, until you reported it.
EDIT: Now I know it happens when a non-empty "chunk of chunks" (sorry) becomes empty. This can happen when going up while underground because the depth of cave maps is limited (a cave can becomes invisible at some point).

I know its a niche problem really, not many people use it currently.
But could you maybe create an option that is able to show caves below y=0 on map?
Currently it seems like you find the stuff to show on map by searching down from the players y down to 0.
A possible option would be a setting that instead searches down by a fixed distance (256 blocks for example) instead, and thus be able to detect caves below y=0 too.
Of course, if you handle the mapping different that doesn't apply.
I understand if it's too much work for a too small target group, but if it's not hard to implement, such an option would be nice

Yeah, a lot has changed. Quite much of the own worldgen and world handling stuff from CC that caused issues is now injected into the vanilla stuff with mixin, increasing compatibility by a ton, because everything can still use all the vanilla classes (in theory) and it automatically gets redirected to the CC code. At least that's my understanding of it. Probably not accurate though xD

Dear Xaero, there is some bug with saving waypoints with Chinese characters when playing on Windows.
I can add waypoint in game and give it Chinese name without problem
but after restart it becomes '?'
I looked into waypoints.txt and found this:
Seems like encoding error.
Surprisingly there is no such error if playing on Linux
Could you please investigate this?
